As soon as I turned around and pointed the gun at that smug face, I realized two things.

Christopher wasn't here, it was all a ploy to get me to this place, alone.

And two, Ferrara was onto me. The man was more deceptive than I had given him credit for.

That knowledge did nothing to quench the fiery pits of flame rising from my heart. If anything, knowing that he had only baited me with Christopher increased the fuel.

My breathing quickened, "You are fucking delusional."

Ferrara stepped out from the shadows created by the inside of the abandoned building where he had been lying in wait for me, and emerged with his eyes flaring.

He had the fucking rights to be pissed off.

Ferrara De Castello lowered his head as he walked past the door, his shoulders lifting in proud admittance of what he had just achieved, getting me alone.

But as soon as his eyes caught sight of the weapon in my hand which was pointed at him, they narrowed to fucking angry slits.
