Call turned to leave as a guard followed her, showing her the way to Killian's office, when they got there. The guard bowed low and extended the brown envelope.

“Ma’am,” he said, handing Calla the documents.

She barely glanced at him before pushing the door into Killian’s office. The man was lounging in his chair, a drink in one hand, his eyes glued to the massive wall of CCTV screens.

Calla dropped the envelope on his desk. “Here. Your precious documents. Signed, sealed, bloody delivered.”

Killian looked up with a smirk. “You are so scary.”

“Scary?” Calla raised a brow, walking closer. “Don’t tell me—” Her eyes flicked toward the wall of monitors. “You were watching me?”

Killian swirled his glass lazily. “What can I say? A man enjoys a good show.”

“You creep,” Calla muttered, reaching for the drink he was nursing. Before he could move, she tipped the glass back and swallowed. Her eyes watered instantly. “Damn! That’s strong.”

“I was about to tell you that,” Killian said, smir

Vanessa parked her car at the side of her mansion. The estate was silent, the night calm. She stepped out of the driver’s seat, kicked off her heels, and carried them in her hand. Then she walked to the other side and opened the back door. “Damn, you’re heavy,” she muttered as she struggled to pull Killian’s limp body out of the car. Killian didn’t move. His head rolled to the side, his chest rising and falling slowly. She looked around. No guards. No eyes. She hated guards anyway. Her father always insisted she moved with protection, but she had fought hard against it. “They scare most of my friends away, especially men I wanna have fun with" she had told him once. “And you know I don’t like that.” Her father had sighed but allowed it, trusting the security of the estate she lived in. Tonight, that choice made things harder. She was alone with an unconscious man and no one to help her drag him. Vanessa pushed, pulled, and staggered, her hair falling across her face as she worke

Meanwhile a maid balanced the tray of food in her hands as she walked down the long corridor. Her steps were soft, her head bent low, as if afraid someone might call her out for being too slow. She finally reached the door and knocked gently. The door cracked open, and Calla’s face appeared. Her eyes looked tired, her lips tight.“I don’t want it,” Calla said quickly.“But… Miss—” the maid began.“I said I don’t want it.” Calla’s voice was sharp, almost breaking. She shut the door before the maid could say another word. The maid stared at the closed door, her lips twitching with a small, secret smile. She turned, walked calmly toward the servants’ quarters, and slipped into the small toilet in the corner. Locking the door, she pulled out her phone with trembling fingers. Her heart raced as she typed fast.Text to Master Vincenzo: Killian and Calla had a big fight. he left home in a bad mood and she refused her food. She hit send, then leaned back against the wooden door, her face glow

Killian paused in his steps, his hand tightening around Calla’s wrist. His voice was low, almost dismissive.“Like I said before, Helen or whatever is nothing you need to know."Without sparing Vincenzo another glance, Killian pulled Calla with him. His strides were fast and hard. Calla tried to turn her head back, but his grip left her no choice.Outside, Calla’s eyes landed on Neva. Her face was calm, almost blank, but Calla caught the sharpness in her gaze. Those eyes were cold, accusing, like Neva already knew what had just happened inside.Killian opened the car door for her. His jaw was tight, his movements rough.“Get in,” he ordered.Calla hesitated, but she entered, sinking into the seat with a stiff back. Moments later, Killian slid in beside her. The air between them felt heavy, choking.“Did he hurt you?” Killian asked, his tone softer now.Calla turned her face to the window. She said nothing.“Calla, answer me,” Killian pressed.Still, silence.Killian clenched his fists

The cab slowed to a stop. “Here we are, miss, We've gotten to your destination” the driver said. "Oh Alright, I can see so." Calla adjusted her black mask and pulled her cap lower before handing him the fare. She stepped out, her heels clicking softly on the pavement. The café looked too quiet, the kind of silence that made her gut twist. She stood for a moment, scanning the tinted windows. This is risky… but risks are what I live for. I have learnt the hard way, 5 years ago. Calla said to herself. She pushed the door open. The bell at the entrance rang, but no one appeared behind the counter. No waiter, no customer, nothing. The air felt heavy, too heavy. “Suspicious,” she muttered under her breath. Then she saw him. A man sitting at the far end. Broad shoulders, sharp jawline, dark eyes. The resemblance was there, but not enough to scream Killian. Still, her heart skipped. She walked closer, tugged her mask off but left her cap in place. “Vincenzo?” The man’s lips curved sl

Calla after making up her mind, sat in the car staring at the message on her phone. Her chest rose and fell slowly as she typed back a reply. Calla: Send me your location. Then she paused, smirked to herself, and deleted it. No, she would be the one in control. She typed again. Calla: Here’s a spot. If you’re serious, meet me there. She dropped a pin, hit send, and locked the phone. Her reflection in the tinted window looked calm, but inside her thoughts were racing. Risk? Yes. But what’s life without risks? and this time she was going to make this risk. She turned to Neva, who was busy scrolling through her tablet. “Ummm. Neva kindly tell the other guards to go home,” Calla said casually. Neva blinked. “What? Why?” Calla touched her forehead dramatically. “I think I should actually really go to the hospital. I’m not feeling well.” Neva’s face softened immediately. “Finally. I’ve been begging you since morning. You should have gone hours ago.” “Yeah I know, you were right.,”

Calla rinsed her mouth, straightened, and wiped her face with cold water. “I’ll see a doctor later,” she said firmly. “Don’t panic.” Neva frowned but didn’t argue. Back in the chair, Calla sat quietly, her mind racing. She thought of Killian. His story last night. His hesitation. His lies. She thought of Selene’s words, Killian has a brother. Her jaw tightened. She didn’t want to dig into the past. But the past was clawing at her, refusing to stay buried. The office door opened. The secretary walked in nervously with files. “Good morning, Miss calla,” she said. “Here’s today’s schedule. If we start now—” Calla lifted her head. “Then start talking.” The secretary nodded quickly, flipping the file open, while Neva stood in the corner, eyes sharp on everything.**Selene sat in the car, arms folded, eyes locked on the tall glass building in the distance. She had been parked there with Damien for hours, the sun already sliding higher into the sky.Damien tapped his fingers against
