Aaron’s pace rapidly increased as he balanced the files in his arms while simultaneously trying his damndest to avoid any more interactions with Flynn or Cameron. He eased the door to the archive room open and entered, hoping for some peace and quiet. Just as he was letting out a sigh of relief as he made his way through the empty aisles to seek out a desk in a dark corner that he could hopefully hide out in, he bumped into them and almost jumped out of his skin.

Aaron: Shit! What are you two doing here?

Aaron dropped the stack of files in his hands on the desk Troy and James were seated at, threw himself down in the seat beside James, taking the glass of whiskey out of his hand and downing it in one go. Setting the glass down, he picked up the bottle and took a swig.

Troy: Playing hookie and hiding from Henry.

James: Mostly the latter. What are you doing here?

Aaron: Hiding from literally everyone.

Troy produced a small smirk.

The slightest little frown accompanied a flinch. Should've been there, by her side. Should've been the one she woke up screaming at. Should've been the one who rocked her back to sleep. If he had been, would the nightmares have gone away by now? Gotten better? The way she looked now, without her makeup to hide behind, like she hadn't slept in months. He couldn't take it, kept screaming why at her in his head. "Maybe next time you decide to go hunting for a potential killer, take people who know about the screaming with you," he muttered as he went to work on the half completed crossword puzzle before him. "I'm sorry," she muttered back. "About everything." If she said sorry one more time, there was no telling what he'd tell her to do with it. She turned her back on him then, but of course sleep wouldn't come. It wasn't long before she turned back around, sat up and snatched the newspaper out of his hands. He grinned, watching her as she looked over the now completed crossword. Li

2021, February 21st (Venatores, Warlanda)Nathan: How far out are they?It was all he could do not to pace. They were so close. In a matter of hours, they could find Kendall and finally find out who the other shooter is. Ever since Nathan confirmed Kendall’s role in Madz’s shooting, all he could see was red. Aaron turned to Keira right before she made the deal to give Kendall up to Lilith after her testimony regarding Madz’s shooting. He gave her an out, told her they didn’t have to do this. That Kate could surround and take the place in a matter of minutes if she wanted her to. All Keira had to do was say the word. House rules: we avenge our own.Aaron: They’re here, on the outskirts of Venatores. Awaiting confirmation to engage. Keira: Doesn’t matter. The deal stands. Nathan planted himself directly in front of Keira. Nathan: Six months, Kei. Six months of planning, not knowing where to look. Now that we do, you're just going to cross your fingers and hope for the best? We shou

The calm oceans she fell in love with staring back at her, Keira felt the heaviness on her chest lift as her heart rate slowed and her breathing gradually returned to normal. He laced their fingers and took her to stand directly under the showerhead with him. She lifted up her arms for him, let him take off her t-shirt and bra. They emerged from the bathroom half an hour later, freshly showered and dressed, him in the same shirt and pants he arrived in and her in a pair of boy shorts and tank top, both black. "About time. I was sure she killed you," Kate said nonchalantly, yawning. She looked between the two of them, pausing to take in her battered and bruised sister, while Keira and Aaron exchanged guilty looks. "You pass, Condor. You may stay. The den's a no boning zone though. Nate will flip out if he sees you spearing our sister with your—" "Thank you, Katie," Keira said tightly. This little exchange earned the Dormer women a chuckle from Aaron. "Thank you, Katherine. Much

The longer he ravished her, the more she came to life for him. Kissing him back, pushing back against his body, matching his aggression with her own. He felt the change in her instantly and drilled deeper into her, reasserting dominance, using all of his weight to ram into her. Words just weren’t enough. He didn’t know how else to tell her. Disappearing on him was not an option. She had to know. He wasn’t the only one lost in this thing between them. He owned her, all of her, everything that was her. Somewhere in their battle to overwhelm, assert who was greedier for whom, the grunts turned into moans, then flat out screams of agony. She threw her head back, then side to side, the belt digging into the back of his neck as she started banging her hips into his to meet his thrusts. He shut her down, splitting her wide open, flattening her body against the wall, hands bearing down on her thighs. Assured of his victory through the lack of successful resistance, he went one step further,

2020, August 17th(Imperium, Warlanda) No resistance. No defiance. Nothing at all. Her eyes remained unmoved. Stone cold. And he? Aaron remained unable to put Keira down. He felt himself fight for the control that was expected of him, part of becoming a king. Whether he wanted to or not, he did have to put her down. But he didn’t become a king. He didn't marry the right woman. And as it turned out, it was okay, because he didn't want it anymore. Maybe he never really did. Back then he wasn't running the show. Becoming crown prince, his engagement to Zoey, it was all scripted for him by his parents. Just shy of a year later, he wound up in a similar situation with Aria, ready to marry a woman who didn't love him for a crown. He stared at her with what he imagined must have been crazy eyes, but the lifeless look in her own stayed. She didn't move. Waited quietly on him as his lips neared her neck, shallow impatient breaths on her skin. Control, Aaron. Stay in control. Always in cont

The Condor princes each offered the elderly woman a polite bow, to which she responded with a curt smile. The newcomers were shown to the tearoom, where additional cups and saucers as well as a fresh pot of tea and an assortment of cakes had already been laid out. Once they were seated, Lilith called for the server, but Aaron abruptly dismissed him. Instead, he cut into one of the cakes himself, put the slice on a side plate and laid it out in front of Keira, before spearing it with a fork. He pulled the fork out of the cake, holding out a forkful to her. Aaron: Red velvet. It’s her favorite. Say aah, baby.Nathan: Well this is shaping up to be a train wreck. Nathan turned a laugh into a cough. James: You’re going to be a lot of help today. That was the fakest of his fake smiles. It shouldn’t have mattered that Aaron remembered this everyday, forgettable moment from their past. It was the second time they met. He choked on the red velvet cake she was feeding him when Troy told h
