Chapter Sixteen

"Where are we going?" Parisa asked as she walked beside Akram, her eyes looking around her in wonder; at the people gathered in the square, calling out their wares and inviting customers to have a feel or a taste of their offered goods. 

"Home." was all Akram answered as he lightly pushed past people, his arm held out, making a sort of barrier against the them and the both of them. 

"Home..." she repeated, her voice taking on a depressed tone. She wondered how that felt, going back to the place where you belong, where you felt a ease, safe from the prying eyes of the world.

But it has been years-millennia even that she had last set foot in her home. She wondered how her fellow brethren are doing, and have they cast her from their hearts for what she had done. 

Noticing the depressive tone of her voice, Akram turned to her, "Are you alright?" he asked, concerned.

She looked up at him, a strained smile on her face, "It's nothing.
