Loss & Love

Bonnie

I watch her, following from a distance as she walks away from the village. My heart breaks for her all over again - like before.

She stops and stands there for a few seconds, her back facing me. She throws her head up and screams.

It's a fierce scream full of anguish and pain and it makes me sob to see her like this. She screams until she has no breath left and falls to her knees.

She stays on her knees for a while and I watch making sure she's ok.

I hear her heartbeat slow down to a normal pace and relief washes over me. She's calming down.

Slowly she stands back up.

I watch her for a few minutes before deciding to move closer.

I inch closer and closer and she doesn't move from her position, ignoring me completely.

The spring sunshine has disappeared and dark clouds loom overhead threatening rain.

Diana still stands there, her dress flowing round her legs with the wind. Her long hair whipping around her body like a cloak.

Hours pass before I decide to approach her.
