Chapter 36: King and Queen of Lies

IF THERE was one thing that I learned through our nine-day marriage, it was the fact that Alexandra was a chronic liar. She lies all the freaking time. She lies about her feelings most especially. When she says that she doesn’t like one thing, it was the opposite.

I knew because she was like a reflection of my own self. We were getting closer now. Still, when she said she would take me down, if I was not too quick to see her lies through her eyes, there was a chance I would believe that she would really do that since whatever feeling she holds in her eyes could vanish in a split second.

It was always a race. If a person next to her was too slow, he wouldn’t be able to catch on.
