Derek’s POV

The last few weeks had passed with no incidents. Soph had recovered fairly well. The pack was happy that she was ok and awake. No one brought up what happened to her, but you could feel the sadness through the pack link. She announced to the pack what had happened to her and the fact that she might not be able to have another baby. They were ok with this. We would work something ok, I told her about adopting and she was open to the idea. Mom was not getting better. She had stepped down from most duties, so Soph and I had picked up where we could.

Brooke never left Sophia's side. They had become inseparable. I had suggested that she ask Brooke to become her Beta. Lars and Zac were never too far from us, as well. They had both taken to being my equal Betas. The elder council had been happy with the suggestions that I put before them. The attacks were becoming more frequent. They were still attacking the outer packs, because they had not been able to break through the lines,
