Chapter 5: Bound me to you

His words were lost on me. My mind was incapable of acknowledging anything he asserted. 'Who is he to use the term "mate" when he had destroyed the lives of those true fated mates? Each phrase that he utters is a complete curse!'

"How heinous," I couldn't help but spit. Nevertheless, it dawned on me what we were doing. As soon as I regained my sanity, it appeared as though I had been burned on his skin. "Get away from me!"

I pushed him quite hard for the first time, and I was successful. I fell into the water, and we exchanged glances. I was the only one tense amongst us while he was utterly calm. The more I see his flaming eyes, the angrier I become over Archer's demise.

"If you could only see your reflection in a mirror... What a pitiful sight," he murmured mockingly, shaking his head.

As he approached nearer, the water surged, and I again experienced panic. My resistance to breaking tightened my body, making me feel as if I were coated in ice.

"Take a look at those desirable eyes. They look scared but dangerous because it ends up looking like it can brutally murder me—"

"I can because I will!" I didn't allow him to complete his sentence. My canine tooth had already shown, and so did my sharp nails.

"How scary," he ridiculed and lifted his hand as if submitting. However, his face remained expressionless.

I was even more enraged in response to the disgustful gesture he was showing me. "Don't make a fool out of me!"

"It seems like you haven't been told who the person in front of you is, have you?" He moved forward without averting his already-present regards from my soul.

"Don't come near me!" I snarled.

I knew he wouldn't feel fear since he was strong enough to break me off with one hand without flinching. I began by gently closing my eyes and inhaling deeply. If I had yet to exact the vengeance I desire, no one should benefit me.

'If it's not Archer, I don't want it.' I slowly put my sharp nails to my neck. 'Look how sad the love we've fought for has ended, Archer."

"Agh..." I faintly growled as I felt the cocoon of my index fingernail on my neck, creating beads of tears in my eyes.

"What do you think you're doing, woman?" His tone of address remained unchanged. There were nothing emotions in there to be heard. He was calling me his mate, yet not even a trace of worry.

'...But why? Why am I feeling unfulfilled? Why is this heart thumping like wild? Is it fear for him? Or...'

I shook my head when something came to my mind.

"You dare to ask what am I doing?" I smirked. "Don't mind this insolent lady, my Lord-!"

I couldn't continue my sentence because another wave of water went by, and some droplets got into my eyes. Fuck!

'Where is he?!' As my vision got blurry, I wandered my eyes to focus on the man in front of me. However, as I opened them, I came dangerously close to sticking my long nails into him. My pupils dilated as I realized we were just a handful away.

"Those are deadly," he whispered, bringing his lips to my earlobe to lick it. "As I already made clear, it was a Goddess send that I captured you, so why are you still trying to evade my grasp?"

I sought to withdraw my hand but couldn't do so due to the strength of his hold. As I was aiming to push him, his arms slowly slid down around my waist, attempting to draw me closer.

"Release me!" I struggled, but the water splashed out.

"You appear to be quite an at ease in my presence. Is it still vital for me to introduce myself?" He yanked my waist hard enough that my body collided with his chest.

"..." I was frozen because I feared being taken away by my body's heat.

"I never imagined I'd have to reintroduce myself after declaring myself the Lycan King." I felt his soft lips brush against mine as he whispered those words.

My body did not react to what he did. My inner wolf was reviving.

"With each minute I spend with you, you grow more mesmerizing," he said as I drank the kiss.

'Why? Why am I submitting to him?'

"I will tell you this once, Heather. I am Theodore Barclay, the King of the Lycans and Alphas. You must realise that as a consequence of your invasion into my domain, I now own you, and no matter what you do, you will never be able to escape the fate that bound me to you."

After he said that, I felt as if I were intoxicated when he knelt in front of me.

"I do not kneel for others; others do for me, but for you..." He licked my abdomen down to my most sensitive area. He spread my legs and stood poised to devour me once more.

When I closed my eyes, a flash of the dead Archer flashed into my mind. That was all I had left to cling to. I wouldn't let him do it again.

"No!" I roared, quickly shifted from being a wolf, and attacked him without hesitation.

Unfortunately, he bolted and retreated before I could strike him.

When I peered at him, I realized he was gasping for air and had a small amount of blood from a scar on his face.

Oh. I struck him.

My thoughts was cut off when the door abruptly opened, and blood fell from his cheek into the water. When I returned my eyes to the person who had arrived, I hurriedly diverted my gaze.

A woman without any clothes. 'What sort of prank is this?'

"You have finally arrived. I assumed we could enjoy these three, but I was mistaken." Theodore's statement drew my eyes away from him.

'What is he aiming to convey? What will the three of us do?'

The woman stayed silent and remained her head bent.

"Do not be surprised, woman." He had risen above the water's surface and was no longer submerged. He reached the woman and placed his hand on her shoulder. "She is my kept woman, but if you wish, I will dispose of them all for you."

I opened my mouth in disbelief. 'Pathetic. We are not objects!'

And as I saw he was waiting for my response, I could only say what was in my heart. "You are completely insane."
