Chapter 10

Amelia's heart stood still. Was it a prank he had just pulled on her or was he really gone?

She got up to check.

Amelia walked out of the room, her phone in her hand and the keys of the room in her pocket. She thought it was his house and that maybe he went to prepare her a meal but that wasn't it.

It was infact a guest house. It looked like someone's house because that was the way the designer had meant for it to be.

"Good morning ma'am, how can I help you?"

Amelia stood there speechless. She drew in her breath three times before she was finally able to talk.

"I'm looking for a man. He's this tall. He's slim and light skinned. He had a weird but funny smile. He came from the room I was in. Have you seen him? Did he leave his contact?"

The receptionist looked at Amelia blankly. She later said she had no idea what Amelia was talking about and had not seen a man in that room.

Amelia's jaw dropped. She stood there, frozen and wide eyed.
