22. A Bodyguard

I dash back through the path I had just come from, and there are steps behind me.

“Amy, what’s wrong?” Someone yells from behind me.

“There’s something off about that girl,” Amy spat, and I can’t help but notice that the voices are closer.

They are catching up.

“Have got this,” a high-pitched voice rang out, and then suddenly, I saw blurry movement from the corner of my eyes, and my back hit the ground.

I groaned, my back aching as I tried to stand up and saw the person who had pushed me down.

He is small with sparkling green eyes that were locked on me.

“I guess you didn’t expect we could catch you,” Amy snarls as she closes the distance between us.

“What do you want?” I demanded and finally managed to stand up.

“I think you are a spy from the other academy,” Amy declared, and I could tell from the look on everyone’s faces that she wasn’t joking.

“I have my class schedule and my pass from the administration room. There’s no way I’m some spy or whatever.”
