52. Just A Victim

Esme's POV

I was met with Lois's worried eyes the moment my tired orbs flickered open.

Relief instantly crossed her deep brown orbs as she quickly turned to Silvan, whom I didn't notice at first.

“Esme," his voice was tender and soothing,

"Do you feel any pain?" He asked calmly while wrapping his huge hands around my tiny ones in assurance.

I inhaled deeply, memories of all that occurred the day before rushed into my mind as I made to spring out of bed.

Silvan seemed to calculate my movement accurately because he was soon holding me down, worry lines etched on his forehead.

"Take it easy, your Lycan needs to relax to recuperate faster" he uttered, slowly laying me back to the bed.

"What happened? How is Sophie?" I managed to ask quietly, allowing Silvan to cover me properly.

Lois exchanged glances with Silvan, and I felt my hair rise in curiosity.

"The queen swung into action the moment you slumped while reporting the attack. Some guards were sent to fetch Sophie and the driver.”
