SIENNA

My eyes were as wide as saucers, I was sure of it. Did she just say that he was her fiancé? He was going to wed a woman who was nothing like his mate?

“I’m sorry?” I couldn’t help but ask her.

I knew I heard what I thought I heard, but what if it was the wrong thing? What if she meant that they were engaged but since I was now in the picture, they were no longer going to be married?

She looked taken aback at my question but remained composed as much as I tried to. My chest was hurting, and it felt like my heart had been pulled out of it and smashed on the floor.
