Mia’s pov

I was busy cleaning the counter when Lorenzo said most unexpected thing ever.

“I love you.”

It was just three words, but it made everything stumble to a stop in my mind as soon as it registered in my mind. I blinked once, shock resonating in my mind as I slowly glanced up from what I was doing to blink at Lorenzo. He was standing at the other side of the island, hand lastly wrapped around a glass of drink.

His eyes was lazily trained on me and I blinked once while wondering if I had heard wrong. He hummed as he lazily walked around the island till he was standing in front of me. One of his fingers tipped my head backwards until I was staring into his eyes.

“I love you.” He breathed out softly and I felt my lips tremble in shock.

“I- I thought I heard wrong.” I whispered and he snorted, a small grin tugging at his lips.

“You clearly didn’t.” He hummed, eyes glistening.

The words swirled around my mind, right into the middle of my heart to settle there.

I love you.
