Chapter two

“You might have done well against them, pretty understandable.. they’re low grades after all but let’s see how you do against him “ he said and a one sided smirk danced all the way up his face and on turning, she saw one of the scariest creatures she’d ever seen in her whole career. He looked muscular but this wasn’t the kind of muscular man girls dreamed of. His muscular body, not well structured face and those dreadlocks and tattoos on his body, his look alone was enough to scare her but she didn’t fall for it. She had humiliate this don right here.

She rushed in his direction but not to hit him. She slid directly under him and since he’d been expecting her to attack from the front, he wasn’t prepared for the back attack and she successfully used her necklace to give him a hard punch in the neck. She’d really practiced biology because she knew the exact place to hit that made him fall to his knees in pain, giving her the chance to climb on his back and when he got up, trying to throw her off, she covered his nose and mouth with her chain. Soon, blood started oozing out of his nostrils and he started coughing.

She wasn’t done however as she removed the chain from his nostril and put it around his neck before tightening so hard and then climbing on the ceiling, kicking his neck so hard from it, causing him to fall to the ground before jumping on him as her landing. He fell unconscious.

She took her chain from his neck with a victorious smile on her face, “Mr don, how about this, stop trying because you’re just going to be losing more goons and then who’ll protect you? “ she asked with a mocking smile as she put her chain back on.

Daniel clapped his hands and some bags were brought before him and on opening them, she gasped in shock. “So much money!” She said as she bent to caress the notes.

“Do you want this money?” He asked and she immediately got up.

“If I have to give you the name of whoever sent me here to get all this money, forget it. I’ll burn this money because after I’ve taken money, every other money is just thrash” she told him and he smiled to himself.

“I’m not giving you all this money to spill the beans, I’m giving you the money because I like your kind of people” he said and walked beside her. “Normally, I’d think you’re greedy but now I know, you’re just committed and I need people like you with me. With someone like you around, I am sure I’m safe and I don’t have to feel scared even though I never am. Take it, don’t give me the name of the person who wanted me dead… just work for me” he said.

“That’s where you are wrong Mr Don” she said. “I’m not committed, the only thing I am loyal to… is money and if someone happens to give me a better offer, trust me, I’ll ditch you and go with them because…”

“How much do you want? Daily, monthly, weekly.. how do you want it? I’ll pay you what you want, just please, work for me” he told her.

She smiled, “if you’re willing to pay me a lot of money then of course… I’ll work with you” she said before taking her jacket and then leaving the basement with him, her hands filled with one of the bags that contained money.

“Hold on, what’s your name?” He asked her. She ignored him and kept on walking forward. “Do I also have to pay to get your name?”

“Kathryn Rivera “ she said before walking out of the basement.

.

He threw a file at her, “Jamil industries, that’s the map around their main site and you’ll need it to know where the safe is. Will you be able to get it?” He asked as she flipped through the files.

“Hmmm. You should know, I don’t work with maps. They suck!” She told him before walking out on him, right after throwing it in his face.

He held on the file with an unexplainable smile on his face, “She has the guts, I love it “ he said to himself as he fell to the bed with a smile on his face.

Kathryn closed her eyes and inhaled deeply before raising her head over the little fence, she’d almost gotten caught by one of the goons guarding the main site and judging by the number of goons that had been kept outside the main site, she could tell that it was something really valuable in the safe. She rolled as she used her hair pin to open the door that led into the gate man’s area. There wasn’t really any need for a gateman, she thought to herself, they must have just put a gateman to divert the attention of the public.

She put her hair pin back in her hair before sliding the door into the main building open and then making sure to walk into the building and that was when she realized how tacky the place actually was, it was a very shady place and that was when she realized they were another gang of mafias. She slowly went behind cartons that were arranged in a vertical manner, making very sure not to alert the goons that an intruder had stepped in.

She got to a door and on trying to open it, she realized that there was a special card that needed to be swiped before she could get into that room. She cursed and before she knew it, the alarm started blaring!

“Intruder alert! Intruder alert “ it blared and she immediately went to hit beside a container of black paint.

One of the goons turned around and immediately rushed there and on getting there to see no one was there, he wanted to turn and continue his guard duty but then gasped the moment a dagger was sent to his throat.

Kathryn immediately got up and started checking him for the card when another goon rushed to her and made to hit her head with a stick when she caught it mid air. Still holding on to the stick in the goon’s hand, she walked up the walls and on landing, she held on to his neck and twisted it before falling to the ground, breaking his neck.

He screamed in pain and just as she was checking for the card, three goons started rushing towards her, it was obvious that she’d made a lot of noise fighting off the goons.

“Damn it!” She cursed and luckily, she found the card. Just as she wanted to swipe the card, a stick was thrown at her but it missed her head and landed on her neck. “Aaargh!” She winced in pain and gulped.

She turned, something was suspicious. Why weren’t there any goons guarding this door? There were three goons running towards her, why weren’t the other four? Why were they guarding the huge metal box there?

Before she could think any more, the most muscular of the three goons rushed to her and flung her across the room, causing her to crash into the pillar.
