Chapter ten

Daniel slowly opened his eyes as he looked around and he saw Kathryn opening a cupboard and keeping clothes. When he saw that she was turning to him, he immediately closed his eyes. He wanted to know how she’d been treating him the whole time he was unconscious.

She walked to the bed and sat beside him before putting a towel in a bowl and then squeezing the water out before putting it on his forehead. She did it so carefully like she was his wife and he couldn’t help but smile. Despite being such a talented assassin and goon, he’d hands still felt so delicate when they touched his forehead and it was when he smiled that she realized that he had regained consciousness.

“Daniel?” She called like a mother would call a child she’d just caught stealing ice cream in the middle of then night.

He slowly opened his eyes with a smile on his face and as he tried to get up, she put her hand behind him before putting a pillow so he could sit well. He saw that an IV drip had been connected to
