Chapter 75: Damon

I was confused to say the least, and wary of him. I didn't know if this was some sort of act to gain my trust, or if it was real. Whatever it was though, I didn't care. As soon as Damon and Derek got me away from Lucas I was out of here. I'd run into the woods once more and this time I wouldn't get caught.

We suddenly stopped running and I was laid down on the ground. I looked up to see Derek and Damon breathing heavily and looking at the forest around them. After a few moments of listening they seemed to decide that no one was following us, and sat down on the ground in unison.

For the next couple of minutes everything was quiet as they caught their breath. I looked down at the ground while they relaxed and listened intently to the forest around me. I knew how smart Lucas was and I didn't think we'd lost them.
