Azara

His scent wrapped around me like a secret.

The alluring blend of midnight Jasmine, Musk, and a dash of Lavender trapped me in its sweet darkness.

I didn't move. Not one inch as I allowed the pull of matebond and his intoxicating scent consumed me until I was lost. Except this time, I never wanted to be found.

Time stood still as we remained glued to each other, basking in euphoria as our eyes were shut in silence.

His presence calmed me, filling me with a strange inner peace, like the quiet that remained after a raging storm.

Nothing else mattered.

Not the collar that settled on my neck like a heavy burden, not my shabby clothes, not the fact that I was a slave, and definitely not that my life was going upside down.

I waited patiently, releasing a slow tensed breath as I could sense the arrival of his soft lips.

The loud gritting of his teeth filled my ears as he pulled back, shutting his eyes and taking a deep breath to regain control of himself.

Okay. No one was expecting this. The bombshell. I feel bad for Azara. How could Alaric do that to her? And how many of us hate Lucille’s character?

Chapter 32 Azara My entire body went still like a bucket of ice was thrown over it. My heartbeat picked up at a great speed, causing my breath to come out in short pants. She was joking, right? She had to be. What does she mean by her wedding being in five freaking days? Little wonder the quadruplets refused me as their mates. My chest tightened as my gaze swept through her wicked smirks. No doubt, she revealed the news to humiliate me, to watch me break, to cause me to react, to reduce me into a mess, and to bask in my sadness. Her evil intentions were bold, she wanted to see me cry, to watch me beg and crawl, but I had other plans for her. I would never give in to her desire. Not today. “Marvelous news!” The Gamma praised, dropping the cutleries noisily on his plate as he clapped cheerfully, a wide smile brightening his scarred face. His eyes darted in the direction of the quadruplets, eyeing them with envy. “Congratulations, Alphas. The Pack would be thrille

Chapter 33Author's pov“Argh!” Giselle's thunderous growls echoed throughout the empty hallway. A thick cloud of anger surged through her, taking over her senses. Her eyes were glowing red and her canines were tearing through her gums. All she wanted was her long sharp claws slicing deep into Azalea's heart. Fuck the quadruplets! She missed the perfect opportunity to end her life. “That stupid bitch, I will kill her with my bare hands!” She threatened, a sinister expression clouding her as her fist curled into a ball. How dare she?! How dare the lowly slave humiliate her in the presence of her future mates and their right-hand men. How dare she ruin her precious dress? “Fuck!” She screamed in her mind, fidgeting as the urge to destroy anything that crossed her path consumed her. “Lucky bitch!” she muttered under her breath. She wouldn't stop until Azalea had stopped breathing. Sensing the quadruplet reaction, her growls turned into soft sobs as she inched close to Atlas, r

Chapter 35AzaraI crashed heavily on my bed, flooding the ground with my pool of tears. My sobs penetrated into the air, shattering the deafening silence that engulfed me. I curled into a ball, wrapping myself tightly with my hands covering my face. I remained in that position for hours, not even flinching. My body ached terribly and my muscles protested, but I didn't make a move. I wanted to punish myself for letting myself fall effortlessly for Alaric. How could I be blinded by his tactics? He didn't even make much move. All he did was flash my ring and throw some shitty necklace around my neck, and I fell flat for him. But that was in the past. Alaric was not different from the rest of his brothers. One minute, they confuse you with affection; the next, they shove betrayal in your face. I am smarter now. Although it hurts to know that no matter what, they will always choose Giselle over me. She was their perfect Luna while I was their slave. Their betrayal stung like p

I could hear the loud thumping of his chest and the struggle written on his face. I clung to hope, praying he wouldn't disappoint me once more as my eyes shone in tears. Slowly, his fingers brushed against my skin. I watched in confusion as his hands made their way to my face, before gliding down my neck. His fingers trembled softly and a small sigh rolled off his slightly parted lips. Determination flashed in his grey eyes as he took a deep breath, steadying his shaky hands. My eyes swiftly followed the collar to be sure I wasn't dreaming. I gasped in shock as my eyes widened. It shouldn't have meant anything, but it did. The small gesture mean

Her eyes widened like she had seen a ghost as she raced towards the dress, examining it before letting out a loud gasp. Her hands covered her open mouth in shock. “This…” she paused, her trembling fingers sliding through the soft satin, tracing the delicate lace. “Was made by the most famous designer. It was tailored to perfection. These sparkling crystals were hand-sewn. It took months of hard work to create this masterpiece.” “To make matters worse, her wedding is in five days. What is wrong with you? Is that how bitter you are? Is it jealousy?” Lucille’s words cut through me like a dagger, slicing my already healed heart and reopening the healed wound. Fear gathered in my eyes as I clasped my hands together, shaking my head as I tried to make her believe it was an accident. But she was fuming, refusing to listen to any of my pleas. “I'm telling

My back ached as I worked in silence, enduring the intense heat that generated a pool of sweat, soaking my dress and matting my hair. I paused briefly, taking a deep breath as I swallowed. My lips were dry and my throat burned in thirst. Heaving a sad sigh, my eyes traveled in the direction of the quarters. I groaned inwardly, calculating the long distance in my head.
