Rescue and Healing

Arielle’s POV:

Ouch! I cried out as I landed on my arms.

I hissed as I felt a stinging in my calf. I had been careless, again. I had injured myself.

What a horrible time this was!

I sat up, bringing my injured calf forward to see where the branch had struck me.

By the puncture wound I could see blood flowing out of, I quickly determined that it had stabbed my calf.

I watched the blood flowing out of my calf, wondering how to stop the bleeding and make it back home.

Biting my lip, I traced the edges of the injured area with my hand.

How was I going to do this now, on my own?

‘I’m in the forest right now,’ Richard’s voice came through. ‘Tell me where you are, love.’

I sniffled, my eyes not looking away from my wound.

Was this it?

Was I meant to be a helpless girl all my life?

Even this injury, with all my skills as a doctor healing others, i found myself feeling so helpless to heal myself.

As soon as I had that thought, inbevan to feel a warmth stress through my fingers and radiate down
