CELESTIA’S POINT OF VIEW

He held my hands as walked a bit further down the road and we soon saw a black Mercedes parked by the side of the road. I guessed that was his car since no other car was in sight. The walk to the car was silent. The wolf in us both kept screaming mate and I could sense he felt it too as he held my hand tighter, stole few glances at my face too as we walked but said no words. We soon got to the car.

“Peew peew” the car made a sound that signalled it was unlocked. He must have done that with its remote. My company’s CEO had the same car so I knew. He helped put my bag in the back seat then went around to the driver’s seat.

“Do not worry, I will get you home safely.” He promised then put the car’s ignition to life and we zoomed off.

“So where do you live?” He started a conversation. We chit chat as I gave him the directions to our house. We soon got to our gate.

“It is here” I announced as we got to our gate. I made for my bag on the back seat but he held my hand restricting me from doing so.

“I know you can also sense we are mate, right?” He asked knowingly looking straight to my eyeballs. He was blunt.

“Errmm… ye… yes” I replied stuttering.

“Then you should know we should not let this be the last time we meet.” He said with a smile.

“Here.” He stretched forth his phone to me. “Give me your contact so I can reach you and we can get to know each other better.”

He said all of that without losing the smile on his face. Now, I could see his beauty. He had a curly brown hair, brown eyes with a perfect round face. He was also tall with about six feets and a muscular body most ladies would kill for to match. The smile he always had on made him more attractive with his perfect white set of teeth coming to play.

I collected his phone and input my contact in it. He dialed it right there and my phone rang from my bag. I picked it up and brought out my phone, his contact was boldly displayed on my phone. I waved it in his face.

“Did you think I would give you wrong contact?” I asked mockingly and scoffed.

“Not at all, I was just checking if it was your hotline.” He replied.

We said our goodbyes and I walked into our compound. He waited till I was inside the house before zooming off. What a gentleman.

“Oh my darling, I guess your date went well since he brought you to the house?” My mother said to me as I walked into the house.

“What stupid date?” I responded angrily as I stomped past her and collapsed into the sofa in the living room then let out a noisy sigh. I closed my eyes to try to go over every thing that happened that night.

“Oh baby, what happened?” She came to sit beside me on the sofa.

“Celestia? You are back?” My grandfather also came into the living room and sat on the chair facing the sofa my mother and I sat on.

“Grandpa, mum” I sat up and called on them both. I continued, “You know I did not want to go to this blind date. Not only is it a stain to my ego as it projects desperation but it is also not my style at all but I went because I love and respect you both a lot.” I said with a frown on my face as I looked from my grandfather to my mother.

“Could you believe the bastard and silly son of your friend stood me up for over three hours and did not show up?” I flared.

“What?” They both chorused in unison.

“But I saw a young man dropped you at the gate?” She asked confused.

“A young man?” My grandfather stressed looking at her.

“That was the man that rescued me when I got ambushed by some hoodlums and almost got robbed by them after I left the restaurant and could not get cab anywhere around as it was past the working hours. He brought me home afterwards to make sure I was safe.” I explained leaving out the fact that we were mate from them.

“Oh…oh…” She exclaimed in realization.

“I need to call my friend to report his stupid son. How dare he stand you up and exposed you to such danger?” My grandfather fumed.

“Well, grandpa, I would really appreciate it if you did not try to matchmake me with any of your friend’s sons or whoever henceforth. When it is time, I will definitely bring a man home, I promise, okay?” I pleaded.

He looked at me feeling so sorry and responsible for the ordeal I had gone through that night.

“I am sorry my daughter. I just want to see you with a happy home and beautiful kids before I leave…” He said and looked away.

I went over to him and gave him a warm hug.

“You are not going anywhere anytime soon, grandpa. You will be here while I do those things.” I reassured him while still embracing him.

“Have you eaten? You did not mention getting anything to eat earlier and you must be hungry considering everything you said.” My mother said sounding really concerned. I disengaged my grandfather and turned to her.

“I did not eat yet but I do not think I am hungry right now. I just want to take s shower and go to bed so I can wake up early tomorrow and get to work early. You know how my boss can be with lateness.” I said as I gave my grandfather a peck and hugged my mother. I picked my bag and went to my room after I bid them goodnight. Apart from the fact that I wanted to sleep early truly so I could get up early, I also did not want the questioning that would definitely come up at the dining if I had opted for dinner. My mother would not let me rest with several questions about the man that brought me home. Now that I thought about it, we only exchanged contacts but did not exchange our names. I took my shower and slid into my night wear. I put off the light then slid under my blanket and closed my eyes. I reminisced about the night with a little hope he would call but I slept off.

CELESTIA’S POINT OF VIEW

I was woken up by my alarm. I still wanted to sleep in for a little bit more as I snoozed it but for the thought of my boss punishing me today again for few minutes lateness, I jumped off the bed and put the alarm off completely. I headed to the bathroom to brush my teeth and took my bath. I was ready in no time and still had an hour left before work. My room was messy but it was always like that until weekends when I had the time for myself. I took one last glance at my look in the mirror and it was perfect. I stepped into the living room but no one was there. She usually do come to my room to check if my alarm woke me or not but she did not that morning. As for grandpa, he was usually lying on the sofa to always bid me goodbye for work. That was the ritual but I was confused as none of them was in the living room or even in the house that morning. I called out to them.

“Mum? Grandpa?” I checked the kitchen and found the meal she had prepared, it was still steaming hot so she just finished cooking. I checked their rooms and it was empty but neat and well organized unlike my room. That was not the issue at the moment. Where could they be? I asked myself.

I was getting really worried when they both came in from outside, I got relieved until I saw the guy from the previous night.

“You?!” I exclaimed half screaming. Why was he here? I asked in my head

“Is that how you welcome a guest? I taught you better than that, come on” my mother said and smacked me slightly. I jolted and moved out of the way. He was led in by my grandpa as if he was some important dignitary sent from abroad. They sat on the sofa.

“What do you care for? Juice? Wine? And I just finished preparing breakfast, do you care for some?” My mother bombarded him with questions. We were not the most wealthy family in the city but hospitality was our watchword especially my mother. She could give just anything of hers away to a guest just to be sure they were pleased and comfortable.

“Oh there is no need for any of that ma’am, I just came over to pick her up for work.” The young man said as he looked over to me where I was standing still in shock.

“Oh that is very thoughtful of you. She is always so clumsy and get to work late everyday despite waking up early. Thank you my son. So you said you were…?” My mother asked curiously.

“I am Thomas Robinson.”

What! I exclaimed in my head and my mouth involuntarily opened in shock.
