Chapter 2. Good for nothing!

Benjamin took a deep breath, he was about to turn to answer the newcomer, when his wife intervened.

″Mr. Ayala, don't use the term señorita with me, I am a married woman, can't you see my husband? Well, he is in front of you," answered Ana Sofía, with an apparently calm voice and a smile that only tried to simulate her growing displeasure.

At his wife's words, Benjamin could not help but be somewhat proud of her, he even felt his ego grow a little, a smile of satisfaction was drawn on his face, which faded just a few seconds later when his father″in″law addressed him in a haughty manner.

″Pick up that mess! ″ordered Mr. Celedón to Benjamín, pointing to the place full of food next to the table.

For a moment, the boy remained silent and wanted to defend himself, because he did not want to make a fool of Ana Sofia and even more, when she had just defended her position as a husband, he did not want to let himself be humiliated in front of the man.

″Mr. Celedón... i″excuse me," he said apparently with a little nervousness, however, his look reflected a trace of amusement, which went unnoticed by everyone. I didn't do it, i″it was Miss..." he did not continue speaking, because he was interrupted by an annoyed Genaro, who immediately attacked him.

Because he watched him hesitantly, without complying with his order, he went on top of him and held him by the neck, although at that moment he could not even move Benjamin a single millimeter because he was taller and his body was stocky, although he disguised his appearance with wide and ungraceful clothes, he was accompanied by bottle″bottomed glasses, abundant and badly combed eyebrows, a nose like that of a toucan with a protuberance perhaps product of some younger accident and a slight belly? too much to be so young, the truth is that it pleased the boy who for a couple of seconds looked at him defiantly, which caused his father″in″law to slap him in the face and push him to pick up the mess.

″Clean it up! ″He ordered, "Get him a brush and a towel to clean up after him, because he has no service in this house, he's just a poor husband who doesn't even have a decent place to live. 

 

At his words, Benjamin hesitated for a moment whether to clean it up or not, he looked at his wife who looked surprised at the scene about to cry, that made the man decide and in the end he bent down to clean the mess with a sigh of resignation, while everyone laughed with pleasure, because they hated the man.

″Why must you stay married to this useless man? ″said Tulio, one of her brothers.

″He's so incompetent, you should get a man to represent you," scoffed another.

″She can't find something better, they forget that she is too ugly... she shows one part of her face, but when they see the other, everyone wants to run away ″she mockingly pointed out.

Ana Sofia was silent for a moment and faced her father.

″Why are you doing this in front of everyone? You are humiliating me in the worst way... because whatever Benjamin is, I am his wife and if I am married to him, it is for being a good daughter, for listening to you by uniting me with a man you chose for me, I didn't ask for it, I didn't want to marry him or anyone else ″the woman exploded and left the dining room towards the main door with too much grief to go to the office.

Benjamin stopped his task and ran after her, he tried to hold her arm, but she let go of him in a contemptuous manner and with a look of rage faced him.

″Don't touch me! Even if I defended you there, everyone is right, you're nothing but useless! Good for nothing! I curse the hour when I agreed to marry you! You're like a leech attached to me to suck me dry... I don't think you should even come to my presentation, because I'm sure that instead of helping me you'll ridicule me... you're not a man a woman would be proud to have by her side.

That said, he continued on his way leaving Benjamin speechless, who ended up sitting on the first step of the stairs leading to the exit of the house with his head in his hands.

"Could I do something to remedy this situation?" he wondered as his cell phone began to ring, Benjamin took it as if it were a poisonous animal, although he did not have the number registered, he knew it very well, he sighed with resignation.

″Hello, Roberts, why are you bothering me? ″he said, still in a bad mood.

″I'm very sorry, Mr. Gray, but by your father's orders you must return home," said the man who was his family's right″hand man, Sirius Roberts.

″Why should I? My father and I are not on good terms. Why do you want me to return if the reasons for my leaving have not yet been fulfilled? ″he mentioned in a tone of apparent indifference.

″Circumstances have changed, that marriage was not in anyone's plans, it was not just a coincidence, besides, that young woman is not a woman worthy of the family... ″the boy did not even let him speak.

″Stop your mouth Roberts! I will not allow a single offense to go out against my wife, she is the woman I married, the mother of my child and I love her.

″That child should come and grow up with the family..." Benjamin's voice like thunder silenced him.

″I told you that's enough!!!! ″he spat angrily.

″His father is sick, that's why he must come, his uncle wants to take control of everything, he is needed here," said a dejected Sirius.

″I'm sorry to hear about Dad...as soon as I can get away I'll go see him, but I'm not going back to the Grey family, not until I finish doing what I came for," he replied calmly, cutting the call short without saying goodbye.

After that she looked for her son who was in the hands of one of the ladies on duty and although Ana Sofia told her not to go, she took a cab and arrived at the headquarters of the Celedon's company, one of the largest in the city.

As I was about to enter, one of the security guards stopped in his tracks and prevented me from moving forward.

″Where do you think you are going? ″asked the man, looking him over from head to toe with contempt.

Benjamin fixed his glasses that were on the tip of his nose about to fall off.

″I am here to introduce Mrs. Grey..." ″as he knew that nobody would know her by that last name, he corrected″ "Ana Sofía Celedón" ″before he could continue, the man interrupted him with a mocking expression.

″Look, this is the husband of the ugly one, no wonder, here he got a broken one with a broken one," laughed the guard.

″He saw the money to the ugly one, but she saw him," the man mocked, "she must have seen him urinating," said the other in a vulgar way, without stopping his laughter.

Benjamin was trying to control himself, because the words of the men were quite offensive, he began to count to distract his mind, while they did not stop mocking, suddenly there was a tense silence, and they began to murmur, for a moment the man thought that the mocking had stopped, He saw them looking at one end of the room and the boy followed their sight and saw the reason for the murmurs, at that moment Ana Sofia was entering with a very handsome man, while both were engaged in a conversation, suddenly she saw Benjamin and the smile on his face froze in a grimace.
