Tequila paced the whole length of her room in anger and she doesn't know what to do anymore. Now her phone is missing and she doesn't even have any means of reaching anyone outside this place.
Since her almost successful attempt to escape secretly failed, she has been locked in here for almost three day now. They bring Uthman at night and take him before she wakes up because he won't sleep without her. Her mind wandered to Aliyah and Aishah and she knew they would probably be serving a stricter punishment right now since they helped her get away from the palace.
She had no idea how the Sheikh knew they were at the airport waiting for the next flight that's going to the US. She couldn't forget how her heart dropped in hopelessness as she saw the very livid Sheikh approaching them. If he were a cartoon character, smoke would've been coming out of his ears.
She half expected him to shout at her or worse hit her. He just muttered some things in arabic before picking their tiny luggage and he asked them to follow him. Everyone was starting to stare because it's not everyday you meet your sheikh at the airport so Tequila just obliged and they left. Since then she has been stuck in this room since then.
She sat down by the window side while drinking in the amazing view of the country. She wasn't going to stay in bed and sulk all day, at least she's not in chains. She can't reach Dream or anyone, her phone is nowhere to be found and she can't even spend the day with her son. Damn the Sheikh for being illusional and thinking Uthman is her son. Uthman surely had arabian roots because his father is from there but his father doesn't even have an inkling about him nor does she remember his face again.
The hotel had a strict policy of keeping the names of their client classified and when Tequila found out she was pregnant, she wanted to reach out to the father so he wouldn't have a childhood like hers, a childhood without a father. The hotel refused strictly and she also lost her job as a stripper. Not that she needed the job anymore because the cheque was enough for them to live comfortably for a long time.
"Are you trying to jump down from that window habibti? Allow me to remind you that you're on the thirty first floor and any diving skills that you want to show off will definitely end your life" The sheikh said and Tequila whipped her head back in shock. She didn't realize when he came in and seeing the lazy smile on his face seemed to infuriate her more. She wanted nothing but to scratch off the smile with her nails, too bad she didn't keep one.
She ignored him and she went back to looking out of the window while waiting for him to say whatever he wanted to say. She could hear him move towards the dressing table and she heard ruffling of papers too.
"You're free to leave Ikram whenever you wish" He said after a while and Tequila turned in shock. She was waiting for him to say it's a joke or something similar but nothing came after that. She threw her hands up in excitement and she rushed towards her little bag. His next words made her stop mid-way.
"However, you can't leave with Uthman. He's a royal citizen of Ikram and we won't let our heir out of the land until he's old enough to make his own decisions" He dropped the bombshell on her and Tequila felt all the previous excitement drain out of her body. She turned to him as if she couldn't believe what he was saying.
"What do you mean?" She asked in shock. She didn't know how to react at this point because She had to play safe so she could leave this damned place with her baby. Before she could say jack, the sheikh was standing in front of her and his eyes blazing with fury.
"I would like to know why you didn't contact me after all these years habibti. You knew you were pregnant and you kept such a huge thing from me. You think I won't want to be in your lives?" He asked in one breath and the fury in his eyes didn't reduce one bit. Tequila was starting to connect the dots in her head.
"I don't understand you" she whispered and he scoffed. He stared at her like she was lying and she didn't understand what's the cause of the sudden change in behavior.
"Are you trying to insinuate you no longer remember me? That explains why you didn't even recognize me when we met. I didn't remember you too, remember everything happened in the dark from the dance to the night long passion. We spent the night together at Deluxe Royal in New York. I left before morning and I remember leaving you a check" He said with a smirk on his face and Tequila gasped.
Never in one million years had she thought she would bump into the Sheikh again in her life. She tried to say something but the words won't form and she kept on blinking her eyes.
"I asked a simple question Tequila, when you found out you were carrying my child, why didn't you contact me?" He asked again in a dangerously low voice and Tequila swallowed in fear. This was a dead end.
"I tried to, I swear. The hotel refused to give me any details about you. They thought I was lying and I got fired" She replied and he shook his head. Tequila knew he didn't believe her but she was telling the truth.
"Its all in the past now and I don't give a damn. There's only one thing that's going to happen here, You're either going to leave Uthman here and return to your life in New York and read for the oral test you failed because of Ali's death or.." He was about to finish his talk before Tequila interrupted him.
"You can't separate Uthman from me and you have no right to. I'm leaving this damned country right now with my son and If you're not careful, you'd never see him again" She replied back with fire in her eyes and the man burst into laughter.
Tequila didn't find anything funny in what she said and she didn't know why he was laughing. The Sheikh stared at her as if she just told the funniest joke in history and she didn't get the point.
"If you think you can threaten me like that habibti, then you're wrong. I would have dealt with you in my own way if we didn't have pressing matters to discuss. It's either that or you marry me and stay here with Uthman. Either works for me so the choice is yours. By tomorrow if you don't leave Ikram then I'd assume you want to be my bride and trust me I will be very glad. It's been long since I had a fiery one like you in my bed" He added with a smirk before moving away from Tequila to pick up the file he brought in.
"Are you joking?" Tequila asked and he turned to look at her with a smile "I'm afraid not my lady" He replied before walking out of the room and leaving the door ajar. What the hell just happened in here?!
Tequila dressed up in preparation to go and see the sheikh and she made sure to put on the finest silk available. She was going to visit the sheikh in his chambers for convincing purposes and she had to look her best. Her chambermaids stood at her beck and call while she took her time to get ready, after she was satisfied with herself she left the room. She made her way into the Sheikh’s quarters at exactly 7pm and she lied to his guards that he was expecting her. She was led into his room to wait for him and she looked around the huge suite. It was befitting for a king like him. She looked around the whole place and she took notice of how the sheikh liked white and gold. Almost everything inside the room had a touch of white and gold. Tequila didn’t know when she fell asleep while waiting for the sheikh.
Tequila sat in the dark room and she had no energy whatsoever left to stand up to switch on the light or maybe the darkness enthralled her. She wanted the floor to open up and maybe swallow her because the sheikh has been blatantly ignoring her or the fact that she felt extremely worthless for letting him sleep with her again. She hasn’t reached out to Dream and told her sister about the raging madness going on here and hoped she had been right about Ali being related to her baby daddy. This whole madness that was going on was pissing her off and making her more confused. Someone knocked on her door gently and she sat up straight even in the darkness, she wasn't expecting anyone and the sheik rarely knocked. Maybe his guards would announce his presence but they rarely did that anymore and she wondered who it could be. She refused to say a word and the knock came again, this time a little louder than the last one. She heard shuffling of feet and she was waiting for the pers
Tequila sat on the bed staring outside of the window, her thoughts all over the place. To someone just coming inside the room, it might have looked like Tequila was enjoying the scenery but it was far from it, she was raging. She was staring out and trying to get all her thoughts in one place, she wasn’t going to let any of their shenanigans get to her. She brought herself to this crappy place to be honest. If only her instincts hadn’t been crowded by grief. Having sex with him was one of the best thing she did in her life and the money he gave her afterwards made her feel grateful, she was able to enroll in med school and she paid for Dream’s treatment. He was the sole reason her sister was back on her feet and the money provided support for them till Ali came. She let a sob escape her mouth as she remembered her dead best friend. Ali was her super hero and she could go on for days why she loved him. He was favorite person and he knew just the way to make things right. I
Three days later. Aliyah and her sister Alisha, hurried down the passage like their life depended on it. "Why didn't you wake me up?" Alisha said to her sister, in a voice so low like they were afraid the walls could hear them. "I did...If you didn't sleep so much, we would be there already." Aliyah slowed down as they arrived at Tequila's door. "Just pray she doesn't report us to the Sheikh for being so late. I'm not going to lose my job because of you." Alisha ignored her sister, rolling her eyes, she reached forward to knock on the door. Tequila was around awake, and a bit alarmed by the sudden knock as she hadn't been expecting anyone and she didn't think the Sheikh would come to see her so early. She was putting on the Sheikh's shirt, the same one he had dressed her in the night she went to his room, since he never asked for it, she didn't return it. But she wasn't naked underneath the shirt, due to the cold
"Will you wipe that look off your face, Habibtha? It doesn't look good on you. Take a seat and let's discuss what's bothering you." Tequila watched him for a while. He looked prepared for anything he had to say like he was so sure there was nothing she could throw his way that would stir him off. Tequila hated that, the aura of confidence was something she wished she possessed right now. She opened her mouth to speak, but closed it back, thinking of the right words to say. The Sheikh was as smart as he was arrogant. "Tequila? If you didn't hear me the first time I asked what was bothering you. Also, why don't you take a seat? It's better than standing." She placed her hands on her hips, when he saw this movement, he rolled his eyes, but she ignores him. "What's bothering me, you say? Don't worry, I don't want to sit down, I'll rather stand than sit beside you." He chuckled. "Fine, if you want to stand and stress your pretty
Amir's eyes were on the lady laying down beside him. She was supposed to be gone hours again, but for reasons only known to her, she was still on his bed, 'sleeping' peacefully. Amir knew she wasn't sleeping, she was breathing way too fast, and her eyeballs were moving around like crazy, also before he had woken up he was sure he had heard her muttering to herself and the minute she knew he was awake, she stilled. He didn't know what she had planned to do yet, some women stayed behind to try and get his attention and see if the sex was worthy enough to make him want to see them again, others, like this one as he suspected tried to steal from him and always failed. He sighed and moved away from the bed, wearing his garment he walked over to the table, where an ashtray sat and took a cigarette, but on second thought he decided it was best not to smoke first thing after waking up. He walked over to the curtain and pushed on a little button close to her cu
It's been two days since Tequila had that conversation with Uthman. She had gotten her body measurements that day. After Uthman had left the room, the tailor had walked in minutes later to take her measurements. She hasn't seen Uthman since that day, but from the conversation they had, she wouldn't be surprised if he had gone about inviting more of his friends and relatives for the wedding even when she had told him not to. He was the Sheikh and no one orders him around. Anyone would have expected that by now Tequila would have accepted her fate, but she hasn't. The more she thought about it, the harder it becomes from her to accept that she would be getting married to Uthman in a month. A man that cared more about his favourite car than her feelings. Uthman didn't care about her, it was all just about the sex. She gave him the satisfaction he needed and had a pretty face, that was all he needed from her, a pleasure hole. Tequila regretted fal
He was speaking in Farsi, their local dialect and Tequila didn't understand anything he was saying. She didn't understand a word, but she could swear on her life that Uthman was cursing. He was speaking aggressively and looked really angry. Without saying a word to Tequila, he stood up from the bed and walked out of the room, leaving Tequila staring at him in shock."Great," she muttered to herself. "I'm left feeling like a fool once again... wouldn't be the first, second, or third time. Fuck me!" She slammed her fist on the bed. Then rolled to her side and remained in that position. "I know I haven't been the best, but I do not deserve this."Uthman hurried out of Tequila's room. He was going down the stairs, Uthman slowed down when he saw him. The one-man he hated more than anything else in the world, Amir. He was walking straight to the palace, dressed in a black suit. The last time Uthman saw Amir, he was much leaner, had longer hair, now he was more built, his
