Memories
Isn’t it funny how, day by day, nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different.
~C.S. Lewis
Reed was lost in her own thoughts as he drove. She wasn’t even paying attention to where they were. When she looked outside again and saw the trees whirl by, she was slightly surprised. He didn’t seem the type to live out in the wilderness. He was more a city boy or at least a townie.
She looked at him again and wondered if the playful flirting at the scenes over the years was his way of actually trying to work up the nerve to ask her out. If he had, she didn’t know what she would have said. This night for all its twists and turns, she had to wonder at that one.
Reed was not the type t
Guiding LightIf you ever find your self wrapped in darkness, it can show you truly what you're made of, but if you need a light to guide you, I will be that light to show you that you can and will survive.~KodiieReed looked at Mason, who was staring at her in the near darkness. He just waited as he rubbed her back. He knew she would finally say something when she could.“My uncle’s son.” She said as she looked at him looking at her, “He was the reason behind the fight. He hurt me really bad.” Reed held up her arm, and he could see the scars there. His fingers found them and traced them gently.“How did you get them?” he asked softly.“Tim,” Reed said as she looked at him. “I was working on th
Chapter 1In the world that she was supposedly born into, somehow she knew she was different. She could see the world change before her eyes, and it seemed no one else could actually see the changes. Colors were brighter to her, sometimes overwhelming in their brilliance. The colors could easily overwhelm all her senses. They often did. Her parents and doctors said she was different, but they had no idea why or how to fix her. Nothing about it bothered her personally except at sunset.Sunset was different. She could be calm all day except when the colors started to change. She had one of two reactions. If the colors were light such as a vibrant pink or lavender, she would find a peaceful calm surrounding her. If the colors were red or orange very much the colors of a firestorm, she woul
The tiny girl went through her day at school with the idea of something bigger was happening. She went into the English class which was one of her favorites not for the content but that for the teacher. He seemed to be the most open-minded person she had ever met. She loved their conversations because he never talked down to her or said her ideas were dumb. He seemed to accept them for what they were as they appeared entirely normal for her to say. She waited after class to talk with him knowing he didn’t have a lesson in the next block and neither did she. If there was one person in her life, who would tell her the truth it was him.“Howie, I have a few questions.” she said as the other students filed out of the class and he raised his eyebrows at her still in her seat. “Do you have some time?”“Shoot Kid.” he responded e
The cave was cooler than the palin as the slight draft moved the air around them. It wasn’t like the ones she had seen the day before that they were sitting in discussing her. This was different and though it should have been dark around them there was a light source that she couldn’t see. She could see that the the man standing next to her had eased a bit. He seemed more relaxed and comfortable not where they had been. That made her feel the same. Though she still had no idea where they were.“What the hell?” she exclaimed.“Close but this isn’t exactly home.” he replied as he moved a step away from her.“Where are we?” she asked.“Your so-called mother only opened a gateway for the Angels to have access to you. I took you off that plane to another.” he said with a shrug.“Traveling between planes with a guy I don’t
Her nightmares were getting worse the longer she stayed away from the plane to which the angels had brought her too. She awoke in her room gasping for air as she struggled to remember all she had just seen. It was two days from her birthday, and it was getting harder for her to keep her mind straight and focused on anything. She was now living in fear not of the sunset but of her dreams. She wanted to see Mitsuhide but was afraid to go to that plane again because of everything she had seen in her dreams. She touched her necklace and looked to the sky as sleep took over again.Waiting for a sign that he knew. She needed him now. She needed something to keep her mind straight. Princess knew that was only something the only person who had not used her for something else could do. Mitsuhide was that person.
When she woke up the next morning, she was surprised to see that they were in a small shelter like a grassy hut of some sort. The fire she had woke up to was dying in the middle of the room, and the soft folds of a cushion were against her side. She wondered how he moved her without waking her. She was warm and comfortable just breathing for a moment to relax her senses. She focused on one thing and sent her extra emotions off. She felt a slight movement at the warm lump that was keeping her back warm. She then heard a slight muffled chuckle.“You are getting good at that.” A deeper voice that was husky with the sounds of sleep rolled over her. She could actually feel the tremors his voice caused throughout her body as he spoke being pressed up against her.“I have been practicing.” she murmured as she snuggled somewhat bac
They brought whatever they needed from their main site. It was a fun time as they raced up the stairs and threw their things in the main room on the ground floor only to run down and do the same as they repeated the process a few times. She made a net out of thin air and threw it into the ocean as she closed the net and was surprised that inside was a fish, or what she thought was a fish. He laughed as he watched from the dry sand of the beach as she jumped up and down with excitement.“You are not like your father.” He said. He looked at her and smiled as he thought that.“You know my father?” she asked.“I do Princess.” he stated.“What is he like?” she asked with a head tilt.“He is contrary, my dear.” he replied. “He doesn’t get happy or show any emotion really. He would say one thing and do the opposite. However,, he is decen
She looked at his hand in front of her. He was trembling. She saw that, and her mind was made up. For life meant forever. She looked into his golden eyes as she smiled at him. She couldn’t imagine what forever meant, but she was willing to see as long as forever was with him. She reached out and placed her small hand in his. He looked down at it almost slightly confused. When he looked into her face, it showed more. He was confused as to why she would choose him.The fact she could see that he thought he wasn’t good enough for her was the thing that drove the decision. She knew she felt differently about him. A schoolgirl crush in her mind and not one she could blink away. This was different. This was deeper. This was going to last forever. He was able to let out the breath he was holding. She chose him. His heart was leaping out of his chest. The wall the around everything he had built up came crashin
