Echo 's POV
I didn’t know how they took me back. When I woke up, ALL I felt was sore. My legs were scratched with thousands of brambles, big and small. I was locked in the dungeon, which I knew fairly well. Here once held a beast of prey which I finally subdued. From then on, Castile the Elder had shown the preference for me, hoping that I could become the future heir one day. Yet now I was here, being imprisoned by my people, my trusted family. What an irony!
TAT-TAT-TAT. Someone was approaching. Now I never got anything more to wish for as to be rescued from the dungeon. On the contrary, memories of my cold and cruel family crawled into my mind and made me shudder with disappointment.
The dungeon door was opened and a stranger entered. In the darkness I could make out only the side of his face. The bridge of his nose took up most of it, followed by two very thin lips. His eyes were so deep at night that they were indistinguishable, like a pool. The next thing I know was my severe choking.
"Are you the abandoned huntress of the hunter family?" Those two eagle eyes locked me. And this face, this beautiful face, with fangs full of hatred, was taking a look at me. "I want to bury you alive for Jenna!"
His wrist just lightly pressed, and I began to cough violently until I couldn't breathe. My consciousness went fuzzy. Just at the moment I felt my body suddenly rushing out an ineffable strength to break away from the man's bondage.
"This was impossible!!" The man looked unexpected. "You…you kept Jenna's Vampire powers? How did you do that? !"
The moon shone down into the basement, lit up the floor and showed me his face. Out of surprise, his fangs gathered. It was the most handsome face I had ever seen, with features so delicate. Even if he looked pale and bloodless, there was no doubt that the face seemed to have been carefully calculated and sculpted. But I couldn't be distracted by his face. He was Jenna's fiancé. A strong hunch in my heart told me so. I could even feel the great pain in his heart.
"Dear respected Duke Elliot, our majesty invited you to the reception room for negotiation!" Someone came to report it, interrupting my almost losing myself.
"Hum!" He suddenly looked at me and said, in a angry voice."Wait for it! You will pay! I won't let you off!" With that and by the light of the moon, he moved out at a Vampire-special speed, leaving me in this dungeon sighing.
I sighed for my fragile friendship, for my weak family affection, for not knowing where my future lay!
Leonardo's POV
Something must have happened to Jenna!!
In my chest, the heart that should never have beaten again suddenly become restless! It was a special CONNECTION between me and her, and it made me uncomfortable. So something must have happened to Jenna!
I stood up, ready to use our "CONNECTION" to find her. But I had just walked down the stairs when the pain in my chest hit me hard to the ground! The truth was that, Jenna DIED! The woman I loved most, my Vampire Princess. She was dead, going away from this desolate and disgusting world! Because of her, I can control my bloodthirsty paranoia and live well in the world. But now, my one and only spiritual support was collapsing!
Louis carried my favorite Boston wine into my room. Every day at this time, I would take a drink and go to sleep with my Princess Jenna. "Your wine, your Royal Highness!" He did nothing wrong, but I still got no trace of compassion. I opened my mouth and let my sharp teeth rip into his neck. Finally, I got his blood sucked entirely! Watching him fall to the ground silently and his body losing its color from extreme ischemia, I felt my brain so excited that it could hardly contain itself!
The moon was perfect. I was going hunting out there. Not many people went out at night in Sinpal. They seemed afraid to meet me, although no one had ever seen me before. After sucking the blood of six men, I knocked on the door of the hunter family.
In the dungeon, the damnable woman lay slumped on the floor, exhausted and weak. Her ragged clothes sold her sufferings out. Casstile the Elder told me that she had stolen the hunter's most precious treasure- the Heart of Moonshadow ring and made Jenna be her scapegoat. In that case, I would kill this woman myself to revenge for Jenna's death!
But the closer I got to her, the more uncontrollably soft my heart became. I didn't know why. I kept trying to adjust myself. When I put my hands around her neck, something familiar rose up inside her, rebelling against me. That was not right! It was Jenna's power! I couldn't get it wrong! Once, when we trained our speed in the Dark Forest, I had felt her power! I couldn’t get it wrong! But why did she keep Jenna's power? Was it because of the ring- the Heart of Moonshadow? I couldn't kill her, so I went back to the Elder, and to my surprise, he ordered me to take the damn woman back to my castle and did whatever I wanted to her.
Right! I would do everything I could to let her die under my torture, paying for the death of my favorite Jenna!
Echo 's POV
The guard took me to Casstile the Elder. The man was there. I was too weak to stand. Most importantly, the two powers in my body were still intertwining and fighting, which made me so sick!
"Your Royal Highness, Echo was yours. Please take her home at your disposal!" With these words, Casstile sat down, rotating his chair and turning his back on me.
"Your majesty......" My voice was hoarse, as if ONLY I could hear it. Then I looked at the handsome carved man, who was looking at me with malice.
"It is a rare measure of justice for you to hand over your people so generously." The man nodded slightly, which was regarded as a salute. "In that case, I won’t decline all this. Just in time, I need time to interrogate, well interrogate. Then will I learn how exactly she stole the treasure and plant evidence to frame blame!"
Obeying his order, his men blindfolded me with a black belt and dragged me out of the house. If I left here, I would become homeless because of the abandonment of my people. Maybe Jenna's curse on me was getting closer and closer...
We pulled up in front of a huge castle. The driver honked to open the gate, and I heard the sound of countless bats flapping their wings in the air. The man took me out of the car like a piece of garbage and threw me into the dirty, smelly basement. It was a place that almost a hundred times colder than my family dungeon! I couldn’t help shivering.
"Feeling cold?" The man only lit a candle. In the dark basement, that small flame seemed to be my last hope.
With the dim light lighting up his face, his facial features gradually displayed in front of my eyes, more stereoscopic. His face was so close to me that I could take a really good look at him. Vampire-specific white skin made his features more luxurious. Beneath the flaxen hair were a pair of blood-red eyes. I couldn’t feel temperature of those eyes. Right there, they seemed to be about to freeze at the moment.
"Before you die, you damn woman, I want to hear from you. How did you steal the treasure yourself and frame my Jenna? Say it!" He clutched me around the neck. I saw his pupils expanding and shrinking with anger, casting an inscrutable stream of shadows.
I should have been in a lot of pain, but as his hand rested on my neck, I could feel his hesitation for a moment. And then, suddenly, the pressure on me that I should have had was lessened a lot. I didn’t know the reasons of it.
He looked from his hands to my face, his thin lips drawing in a cold arc of disgust. He sneered, with redicule, as if the hatred in his heart would never vanish. He opened his mouth slowly. With those sharp Vampire fangs digging deeply into my neck, I closed my eyes in despair, only to feel about the uncomfortableness on my face from his thick hair...
Echo's POVTo my surprise, Pearl didn't show any sign of disbelief. She sat down gently so that I could lean on her shoulder. "Echo, I knew it. And I asked you about it the other night. It's just, at the time, you didn't seem sure how you felt. What's the matter? Have you finally found out how you feel about Duke Leonardo tonight?" Pearl's words made me feel like I couldn't resist opening up to her. She was the perfect person to talk to at this time, not to mention a very attentive and thoughtful person. A friend in need was a friend indeed. Pearl was one of those people who looked indifferent on the outside while he was actually very soft and caring on the inside."Honestly, Pearl, this may be the first time I've ever loved a man. Although I have had boyfriends in the past, I have not felt heartbroken because of some of his words or actions. This time, with Leonardo, I really felt the unbearable heartache, as if nothing could relieve it. You know what? I could have gone to Nathan to
Leonardo's POVI really had no idea that this woman would hook up with Nathan again. And to my surprise, Nathan told me that he was in love with that woman. How the hell did all this happen? Why was it that all of a sudden, everyone around me was trying to leave me?Back at my castle, I saw the Gabriel dress she was wearing, and I was getting so angry. It was a gift to her, but she was wearing it all over Nathan's hallway filled with those bad chemicals. She didn't deserve the dress! It was a relic, an explanation and a proof of love, but now the dress had thoroughly been contaminated by the cheesy, so-called love between her and Nathan."Take it off! "I said to her without ceremony. I didn't want any more of her disgusting smell on this dress. These smells were actually from Nathan. I didn't hate Nathan. Meanwhile, I still think of him as my friend, but I just couldn't stand the sight of the two of them being together. It made my heart ache. The pain became more frequent and more pro
Echo's POVNathan found out that I was getting painful again, so he took me to his room, ready to offering me the painkiller.“Can I just wait for you here. It’s your room. I’m afraid...”“There’s no need to concern about anything. You’re my friend now and it’s your right to visit my room.” He stopped to whisper to me.” even my bedroom.” He blinked like a kid which made me burst into laughter.“Ok, Since you invite me. I’ll go and check what you hide in your bedrrom.” I compromised in his smile and I had to say. Nathan had a really attractive and warm smile. Seeing that smile, my pain was erased a lot. However, I followed his lead to his bedrrom. I didn’t notice that two devious and fierce eyes were staring at me and Nathan.he took nme to a small elevator, which was specially designed for maids to serve hot food, according to Nathan, and it’s hard for me to imagine how big the Spencer’s house was. When the elevator stopped at the third floor and the door opened, I saw a whole new wor
Echo's POVI never thought that Nathan would treat me like this. He was a friend of mine. At least, deep down in my heart, I regarded him as my friends. How would a friend kissed me on the lips. I had to push him away, again. Because when he lightly brushed my mouth, my mind was fully filled with Leonardo’s face. The cold and sculptural and elegant face. It almost drove me crazy. Meanwhile, a sort of strange emotional pain crawled and wrapped around my heart. I had to knelt to the ground, sank my nails into my chest and bent down.“What’s the matter, Echo? Are you alright?” Nathan knelt down as well, concerning about me.“I’m not sure. Never had this feeling before.” I replied with a great pain attacking my heart once again. “Aah!” I couldn’t help yelling out.“I’d better get you to the hospital.” He searched himself for the cellphone, and was ready to call 911.“No, Nathan. I am a Vampire now and I won’t die.” With these words, both Nathan and I were stunned.“Yeah.” He smiled to me.
Leonardo’s POVEcho Blake, that damn huntress, she dared to have herself thrown into Nathan’s arms. What a fucking borthering scene that I saw just now! I, the Duke Vampire, would never let Echo be my threats, of course, in their damn eyes. Not allowing anyone to threaten me in any way was the first basic rule of mine.I went straight to the doorway, Nathan and Chuck were still standing there. Seeing afar, crowds of guards surrounded something. They were moving slowly to the doorway. As I went nearer, I saw it clear that it was King Bass. I never liked this huge troop around me, but it seemed like he did.“What an honor it is for us to have you here, your Majesty!” Chuck prepared to shake hands with King Bass, but was refused by his guard. “Sorry for my rudeness.” Chuck apologized to cover his embarrassment. Stupid ass!Nathan politely bowed to King Bass and elegantly greeted, “I hope you had a nice and wonderful trip from your castle to our shabby house. Please come in and take a sea
Echo’s POVLeonardo left me in the middle of so many Vampires. He might have something emergent and I still took it for granted that there was no need for him to look after a nobody. I perfectly still for a moment, then I glance over the crowd briefly. Finally, i determined to look for something to drink, in order to cover my embarrassment. On the other hand, I did hope not to meet the monster Chuck. As a consequence, I cautiously made my way to the crowd, hiding myself into the crowds.Right at the moment I grabbed a glass of wine and took a little sip, I saw the monster coming to me. He was smiling, which made me rather disgusted.“See who is there?” He greeted sarcastically.“Crap! Think of the devil.” I tried telepathically to tell Leonardo, but he responded nothing.“The most influential Gabriel dress. He should let you wear it! What a surprise!” He walked around me and took a careful look at me and my dress. This might be catagoried into the most awkward moments in my life, bein
