“What were you doing, Willis?!” Idris questioned my actions the moment he took me at the nurse’s clinic. I made it perfectly clear that I don’t need to go to the clinic albeit having a busted lip, however, Idris was adamantly insistent.

“I-I was just trying to help that guy. Benjie’s bullying him.” I explained even though it’s obvious that I was trying help someone. I’m already starting to feel a pinch of remorse from confronting Benjie.

“Are you trying to be the hero now? Is that what it is?” Idris carried the first-aid kit, pulled a chair and eventually sat right in front of me.

“What? I’m not trying to be the hero but am I supposed to let that happen?” He may be right that I’m trying to play the hero.

“Yes, you are supposed to let that happen. It’s the cycle of society. One gets oppressed and the other oppresses.” Idris muttered and it felt utterly heartless of him to say that fallacious argument.
