Dante Leone did not move, but the tension in the room snapped like a pulled wire.

The guards exchanged uneasy, frightened glances. In all their years serving the Don, they had never seen him look at anyone, man, Alpha, or rival mob boss with anything resembling genuine shock.

"Leave us," Dante commanded. His voice was soft, but the absolute, cold authority in it made the stone floorboards seem to vibrate.

The head guard blinked, hesitant. "Boss? She’s an unknown pack wolf from the wild. We haven't even searched her for…"

"I said," Dante turned his gaze slowly onto the guard, his eyes flashing a momentary, dangerous crimson, "leave."

The guards bowed their heads instantly and backed out of the grand study. The massive iron doors locked behind them with a heavy, final thud.

Silence descended on the room, thick and suffocating.

Arabella stood frozen in the center of the vast room, her hands bound tightly behind her back, her heart hammering against her ribs. Her body was exhausted, her knees trembled from the brutal beating at her father’s packhouse, but the strange presence inside her chest was surging, not in panic, but in a quiet, frantic rhythm that made her blood hum.

Dante slowly rose from behind the obsidian desk. He was tall, broad-shouldered, and moved with the silent, predatory grace of a man who lived in violence. He was notorious in both worlds, bloody, ruthless, and entirely dangerous. A mafia Don who ruled through terror, an Alpha hybrid whose life was an endless storm of war and authority.

Yet, as he stepped toward her, his dark eyes were fixed entirely on her face.

In his mind, a storm was raging.

For more than five years, a recurring vision had haunted his sleep. Night after night, amid the blood and chaos of his life, a magnificent white wolf would appear to him in his dreams. It never came as an attacker. In a world where everyone sought to tear Dante down, this phantom wolf was the only thing that brought an unnatural, soothing calm to his fiery, violent spirit. It was a serene sanctuary in his dark world.

He didn't know her face. He had never seen this girl before in his life.

But the moment Arabella had turned toward him, Dante hadn't recognized her features, he recognized the distinct, powerful spirit of the white wolf pulsing beneath her bruised skin.

It’s her, Dante thought, his pulse quickening in utter disbelief. The wolf from my dreams... It belongs to this girl. But how? Why has her wolf been coming to me for years?

Arabella took a shaky step back as he approached, her voice barely audible. "Do... do you know me? I don't think I've ever seen you before."

Dante stopped three paces away. His eyes swept over her torn, dirt-stained dress, the dried blood trickling down her lip, and the deep purple bruises encircling her wrists. A subtle, dangerous shift occurred in his aura, the air in the room plummeted into ice.

"I haven't seen your face before either," Dante said, his deep voice carrying a quiet, heavy intrigue. "But your wolf feels familiar."

Arabella stared at him, completely lost. "My wolf?"

She didn't understand what he meant. Her wolf had been playing games with her for a while now. For twenty years, it had remained completely dormant, earning her the title of a wolfless disgrace. Even now, after her twentieth birthday, it only appeared and vanished whenever it wished, keeping her entirely in the dark. She had no idea what was happening inside her own blood, let alone why this terrifying man was speaking about her spirit.

Dante stepped closer, his long, calloused fingers reaching out to gently brush against the side of her face, wiping away a streak of dirt near her lip.

Arabella flinched slightly at the touch, but she didn't pull away. A strange, inexplicable warmth seeped into her skin where his fingers rested, easing the deep ache in her bones. She looked up into his dark, unreadable eyes, her breath catching in her throat, unable to explain the strange pull anchoring her to the spot.

Dante looked down at her bruised face, his jaw clenching tightly. "Who did this to you?"

"I don't know what you're talking about," Arabella whispered, looking away, her voice laced with defensive pride.

Dante kept his eyes fixed on her. She doesn't even realize it, he thought, his mind racing with unanswered questions. Her wolf has been wandering into my subconscious for years, calming my worst nights, yet she stands here broken and clueless. Is her wolf hiding from her? Is it keeping secrets from its own host?

With a smooth, fluid motion, Dante drew a small silver blade from his jacket and sliced through the heavy bindings on her wrists. The thick ropes fell to the floor.

Arabella rubbed her chafed skin, looking up at him in cautious confusion. "Why are you helping me? What is this place?"

Dante turned slightly, looking out through the sweeping glass windows toward the glowing, neon-lit skyline of Blackhaven City.

"This is my city," Dante said calmly, slipping the blade back into his suit, his dark eyes never leaving her face. "And whatever reason brought you and your wolf to my doorstep ton

The heavy iron gates of the central estate did not open for unannounced visitors.Standing six stories high and guarded by armed men in dark tactical gear, the perimeter of Don Dante’s stronghold was a wall no one dared to cross. Yet, at precisely two o'clock in the afternoon, a sleek, bulletproof black limousine screeched to a halt right before the main security checkpoint.Inside the estate's main courtyard, Arabella was carrying a woven basket of freshly pressed linens toward the east wing. Her knee still throbbed from where Leo's training dagger had struck her earlier, but her posture was straight, her movements careful and deliberate.Suddenly, the harsh wail of a perimeter alarm echoed across the manicured lawns.Arabella froze, her fingers tightening around the edge of the basket. Armed guards who had been standing at attention near the grand arches instantly unholstered their weapons, their heavy boots pounding against the stone as they rushed toward the front gates.Frederick

In the glittering streets of Blackhaven City, news traveled like wildfire. While neon skyscrapers lit up the ocean night and high-stakes casinos overflowed with human mobsters and wealthy elites, the city's underworld whispered about only one place: the central estate.Don Dante’s main stronghold, a massive black stone fortress perched on the highest cliffs, was famous for its absolute isolation. Outlying mansions, ports, and luxury hotels across Blackhaven employed hundreds of human workers, but the Don’s personal estate was untouchable. No female worker was ever allowed inside past sunrise. The women who tried to cross that threshold never lasted long, driven out by strict security or by the terrifying six-year-old heir who ruled the corridors. So when word began to leak from the guards that a strange young woman had been given a permanent post inside the main house, the city’s underground erupted with gossip."A female maiden? Arabella woke before the sun rose over Blackhaven. The soft velvet sheets felt foreign against her skin, but the moment her eyes opened, reality rushed back. She was no longer in the damp, freezing Omega quarters of the Draven packhouse. She was in the heart of an empire ruled by a ruthless hybrid mob boss.By six o'clock sharp, Arabella stood in the grand corridor, dressed in the crisp, high-collared black maiden uniform Frederick had provided. The fabric was fine, tailored perfectly to her frame, yet simple enough to signal her status.Frederick stepped out from the shadows of the main hall, checking a silver pocket watch before meeting her eyes. A subtle nod of approval glinted in his gaze."Punctuality is the first law of this estate, Arabella," Frederick said smoothly, his boots clicking softly against the marble. "Don Dante demands absolute order. In this house, there are no excuses."Arabella adjusted her cuffs, her voice steady. "I am ready to work, Frederick. Tell me what need

The silence between them stretched thin and fragile, like a wire about to snap.Arabella stood frozen beside the giant canopy bed, her heart hammering against her ribs like a trapped bird. The small boy standing by the open balcony doors looked no older than six, but the intense, suffocating authority radiating off his tiny frame belonged to a seasoned mob boss.Leo Leone’s dark hair was neatly slicked back, matching his tailored miniature suit. His sharp eyes, an icy, piercing shade of hazel, swept over Arabella from head to toe, lingering on her bruised face, matted hair, and dirt-stained rags. His jaw was set in a hard, cruel line that was a terrifying carbon copy of Don Dante’s."Who are you?" Leo demanded. His voice was small, but his tone was laced with pure, unfiltered arrogance. "And why are you in my father’s wing?"Arabella swallowed the lump in her throat, taking a cautious step back against the velvet headboard. "I... My name is Arabella. Your father... His tailored uniform was immaculate, and his white hair was combed back with absolute precision. As they walked down the sweeping marble corridors of the estate, Arabella dragged her feet, her bare, bruised soles leaving faint dark marks on the polished floor. The hall was lined with towering oil paintings and obsidian statues, bathed in the soft glow of golden chandeliers."Do not look so terrified, child," Frederick said gently, his voice carrying a warm, fatherly calm. "You are safe here."Arabella kept her head lowered. "He... he really won't kill me?"Frederick smiled faintly, a soft glint of affection in his eyes as he looked back at her. "Don Dante is a ruthless ruler to the outside world, yes. But his word is absolute law. If he promised you protection, not a single soul in Blackhaven will dare touch a hair on your head."They reached a massive set of carved wooden doors at the end of the east wing. Frederick pus
