Ripped Away

“Hey, wake up sweetheart,” Mom whispered. I fluttered my eyes open and groaned as I snuggled closer to Connor, who was still asleep. The bite really got to him and it would take a while before he fully recovered.

“Hi, Mom. What’s wrong?” I asked curiously as I slowly got out of the hospital bed, realizing it was already morning. We must have been really exhausted and lost track of time.

“You have to come to the throne room,” she looked concerned and that had me worried. I followed her while asking myself what they needed me for.

Mom was fidgeting with her fingers on our way there. I could feel her heart racing while she kept walking without taking a single glance at me.

As soon as we walked into the room, I saw Margery’s parents standing there, talking to Dad and my Father. She was a sobbing mess and I was feeling sorry for her. But what could be happening?
