Odyssey to the limits of the Universe

Goes 3000 year. A spacecraft called GEO3000 is orbiting the Earth and is ready to go beyond our universe. On Board the GEO3000 is a crew of 5 people and onboard artificial intelligence, designed to monitor the route of the space expedition, the technical condition of the spacecraft and the regulatory regime of the day of astronauts. The international earth space center (or ICCN) will monitor the spacecraft's flight to its destination.

MCC. GEO3000 can you hear me?

The captain of the ship John. Center, I hear you perfectly.

MCC. Crew, we remind you that the task of your space expedition is to find out why the previous two expeditions are not communicating. As you know, they haven't been in touch for months since reaching their destination. Apparently, their onboard artificial intelligence is out of order.

The captain of the ship John. Center, you understand!

MCC. If you do not get into emergencies, your flight will take 7 days.

The captain of the ship John. Thanks to grandpa Harvard for discovering gravitational energy, otherwise we would never have reached the limits of the universe. (The crew laughed)

MCC. You can activate the gravity engines.

The captain of the ship John. Center, Yes! Activating gravity thrusters.

MCC. Have a good flight! Stay in touch.

Sergeant Eli, member of the space expedition. John, look at our planet! It is beautiful and unique! There is no such planet in our boundless universe. The earth has sheltered us, and we are leaving it. What could be more important than our home?

The captain of the ship John. Elis, we're leaving our home like Columbus left Europe to find America. However, Columbus did not know what he would find, and we do not know what we will find.

Elis. John, maybe we'll find our end.

The captain of the ship John. Maybe we'll find "America."

Edward, a psychologist. Elis and John, I think it doesn't matter what we find, we'll find something.

The captain of the ship John. At least take the Harvard physicist. He discovered a new source of energy that changed human civilization. He hadn't known that splitting the gravitons would produce the new gravitational energy needed for superluminal travel. He did not know in advance that he would disprove albert Einstein's General theory of relativity, and that he would write a General theory of physics based on the discovery of gravitational energy. His words shook the human mind that "everything is not relative, but definite," laughing at the guesses of past great minds. So maybe after the space expedition, we'll find out that Harvard was wrong, too, and we'll break into the world with a new perspective on it.

Edward. John, you have a wild imagination! You must remember that our mission is not to make a new discovery, but to find out why previous expeditions have failed to communicate.

John. Edward, it confuses me that the Center is not aware of what happened to the previous two expeditions.

Edward. John, do you think the Center is hiding something from us?

John. Edward, I'm not ruling it out. It is strange that the crews of previous expeditions are not responsible and not reported the situation to the Center.

Edward. Maybe you're right, though it's more like paranoia. Either way, we're following orders. We're not paid to be curious.

John. I just don't want to be a Guinea pig sent into a maze to find out how a rat will behave.

Elis. I agree with John.

Tom. Well, you have spread demagoguery! You'd better ask kep to scan the ship for problems.

John. Tom, you're making too much of a fuss. We just left!

Tom. I don't like it when people aren't busy. "Kep" what's the sitrep!

Kep, on-Board artificial intelligence. I report the situation-the ship flies past the rings of Saturn. Speed gradually increases from light speed to superluminal (gravitational) speed. I ask the crew to retire to their quarters and go to bed.

John. Thank you "Kep" for information. All right, pioneers it's time to go to bed!

Tom. "Kep" turn on "ground control to major tom" one last time before going to bed, or we're leaving the solar system!

Elis. Tom, good choice!

Tom. What happened to by Tods? He must be dreaming!

Elis. And it's time for us to dream!

John. The main thing you will not oversleep is how we will go beyond the milky Way and see it from the outside! A fantastic spectacle!

The geo3000 spacecraft has gone beyond the milky way. A thousand years ago, we had no idea that we would go beyond our galaxy. We only dreamed of colonizing Mars. Even earlier, we dreamed of getting to the surface of the moon. Now, contrary to all skeptics, we know that man has entered the surface of the moon, colonized Mars, and the earth ship GEO3000 flies to the limits of the Universe. To do unthinkable things, you need to change your thinking, to have the courage to dream that only you can change humanity. Great people change society, moreover, they change the appearance of the world around them. It was these great men who dared to do what no one else could. They conquered the moon. They built the first house on Mars. They decided to see the limits of the universe. The crew of the GEO3000 hurriedly got up from their beds and went to the ship's screen to look at the milky Way.

Elis. Look at the milky way!

John. Elis, Yes! There are no words! Beautiful!

Tom. I think it's just a cluster of stars and Stardust!

Tod. I agree with Tom. Any schoolboy has seen this picture. I'd better get some Breakfast.

Edward. It's like seeing the milky way for the first time. You'd better get busy. Go to Breakfast and get to work! You need to maintain muscle tone. I think Tom will support me. (Tom nodded approvingly, though He continued the conversation anyway)

Elis. You know how to spoil everything!

Tom. You would have brought God here.

John. Tom, no one wanted to talk to me about God! It has not been remembered for nearly a thousand years! Every student knows that it does not exist.

Tom. How many people have died because of faith in God. Recall at least the Crusades against Muslims, the Inquisition, terrorist organizations that share the views of radical Islam.

John. Tom, you're right. I think it was a necessary stage of social evolution.

Tom. John, I think the reversal of thought occurred when we recognized that God does not exist.

John. Tom, of course! We have become engaged in the true cause, and not in religious vegetations! Therefore, we have reached great technological heights!

Cap. It's time for the crew to go to Breakfast and then practice! After you need to pass a physical examination of the psychosomatic state!

John. Colleagues it's time to go! Tod is already stuffing his belly with food! (John laughed)

Elis. John, he likes to eat! He would sell his soul to the devil for food! I think his wife was jealous of his food! (Elis smiled)

John. Elis, that's Tod!

The crew began to eat, and the milky way grew farther from the Ship's view. The milky way was turning into a tiny spiral, as if it had always been. After all, once the universe was the size of a pea, and now it is almost limitless. Gradually, GEO3000 approached the boundaries of the constellation Sagittarius, becoming a little closer to the designated target. During the meal, Elis talked to John about the limits of the universe, and the entire crew picked up the subject.

Elis. John, maybe the universe will be infinite space. Suddenly the teams of the two ships are not lost, but continue their flight, hoping to find the imaginary limit of the universe. Suddenly the teams lost contact with us, because at this distance it is impossible to communicate with the Center. Suddenly they found something they couldn't even imagine.

John. Elis, it's possible your hunch is correct, but we'll know when we reach our destination.

Tod. All bullshit! they didn't find anything, and we won't find anything. They must have been in a space disaster, and they must have died. We just have to fly to the last location of their ships and legalize this fact. What can we find in this universe? Alien ships are little green men? Only children believe in these myths when they are told space stories at night, and people of the twenty-first century also believed in it. Although I wouldn't tell these stories to my children. Now we can say with high probability that there is nothing alive in this universe except us. I think I'd better keep eating the chicken leg and the potatoes.

Tom. Tod, you take your time with eating the food, it will not run away from you, nor will your wife, who cooks your food at home. (Tom laughed, and then he said with a serious face) I think Tod is right. We won't see anything special there. We need to look at things rationally.

Edward. Elis, you're not tired of saying the same thing. You're guessing on the coffee grounds. You better eat and then get to work out.

Elis. You've ruined my appetite. As if I can't speculate on the possible outcome of our expedition.

Tom. Elis, you can assume anything! The main thing is that we can check your assumptions. Otherwise, we'll be talking nonsense.

Elis. Tom, you're a CAD! You called me a dummy! Edward's right, I'd rather go for a run! (Elis took offense and left the dining room)

John. Tom, you know that Elis is very sensitive to words about her. That's why you did it?

Tom. John, you're right, I got excited, but I can't stand philosophical gum! I'm used to trusting facts, not conclusions.

John. Tom, I think the facts are also refutable!

Tom. John, of course, they can be disproved, otherwise they would not be facts. Therefore, we have rejected the proofs of God because they are not refutable. We can talk for hours about God and never come to anything!

John. Well, it was time to stop talking and get down to business, as Edward had said. A fruitful run will not hurt us!

Tom. You're right.

The crew of the ship began to train, and the spaceship moved farther away from the house and closer to the intended target. The ship had already passed beyond the constellation of Sagittarius. However, the ship's crew still had six days to travel. Elis was sulking at Tom for saying she was talking nonsense, and Tom noticed that Elis wasn't paying attention to Him. As they say, it is all in itself. While Jogging, John approached Tom and told Him to make up with Elis. Tom nodded to John.

Tom. Elis, I'd like to apologize to you for what I said at Breakfast. I was abrupt and not constructive in dialogue with you.

Elis. That's all right. It's just that next time I will remember to recall empirical data in support of my conjectures. (Elis said sarcastically)

Tom. That's what I told you! (Tom and Elis laughed)

Cap. Attention! The crew of the ship causes the Center!

John. Kep turn on the broadcast. (A hologram of the Center and the people sitting at the table appeared in the training room)

MCC. Team welcome you!

John. Hello Center!

MCC. How's the flight going?

John. The flight goes normally, without any technical problems!

Elis. I would say the flight is in constant disputes. (Tom smiled)

MCC. Well, everything goes according to plan. Regarding your psychosomatic state. How do you rate it?

John. Subjectively, the team is in a good mood and does not complain. Objectively, we have not yet passed the psychosomatic medical examination.

MCC. Be sure to undergo a daily physical examination to avoid unforeseen circumstances.

John. Center, What contingencies can we avoid? (John asked, puzzled)

MCC. With long flights, there is a possibility of nervous breakdowns, which can become a threat to the entire expedition.

Tom. As far as I know, each of the crew underwent a medical and psychological examination, and each of us passed it successfully.

MCC. You're inattentive, Tom. As it was said above, there is always probability, because, as you know, in an absolute sense, the human psyche is unpredictable.

Tom. Okay, Center.

MCC. We're finishing the session. See you soon!

The crew was confused that the Center pays much attention to the mental state of the team, so John could not help saying that the Center is hiding something from us.

John. It is no coincidence that they spoke of our condition. Something's wrong here.

Elis. I agree with John, looks pretty suspicious.

Tom. Look, you're overreacting. Routine check. You look like old paranoids who believe in conspiracy theories. (Laughs Tom)

Edward. Tom's right! You are at risk! (laughs Edward) you should be the first to get a mental health check!

Elis. Edward, are you and Tom in cahoots? You put us on the list of mentally ill people?

Tod. Elis, you're taking this to heart! They're just kidding!

Tom. Every joke has its share of jokes. (Tom and Edward laugh)

Elis. That's what it is! You're kidding us! John and I want to talk to you on a serious subject, and you laugh it off like small children who do not represent the existence of a real threat.

Tom. Elis and John, You don't trust the Center?

John. I trust my instincts, and they do not fail me!

Elis. Trust, but check!

Tom. What do you think the Center might be hiding?

John. Given the situation, we can assume that they know something about the reasons for the disappearance of the two expeditions.

Tom. Then why did they send us on an expedition?

John. It is possible that we will deliver new information about any incident recorded by the Center.

Tom. Why would they risk the next crew if the previous crews were missing?

John. It's like you don't know we're here for the money, and for the center, we're just working screws.

Tom. What happened to the crew, then, if they sent us to find out the reasons for the missing expeditions?

John. We'll find out!

Edward. Yeah! You've uncovered a global conspiracy! (Edward laughs) We should go check on our psychosomatic state.

Each of the crew lay down in the capsule to check for possible deviations in the work of the Central nervous system, ANS and musculoskeletal body.

Cap. Team, you passed your physical successfully!

Tom. It is amazing that you have passed the medical examination successfully! (Tom and Edward laugh)

Edward. I thought we'd probably have to go home because of " unforeseen circumstances." (Tom and Edward laugh)

Elis. That's not funny to me at all. What do you find funny about madness?

Tom. Elis, why do we have to be serious? Psychiatric hospitals are a thing of the past. Now we know how to treat all mental illnesses. Modern psychiatry with the help of point neurosurgery does wonders!

Elis. You have no sympathy for past victims of mental illness.

Tom. Elis, why should I feel sorry for a man who suffers from mental illness? Isn't it funny that a man believes in God? It's just that we already know that people believe in God because they are delusional because of brain disorders, and it seems funny to me that billions of people have had schizophrenia in the past.

Elis. The main thing that then descendants did not laugh at us!

Tom. Hardly. Our beliefs have passed the test of time, they are more effective than past beliefs.

Elis. In the past, humanity thought the same way, and you know how this story ended.

Tom. Well, then, we made a big mistake.

John. Elis right. Maybe we're sick, too.

Elis. Perhaps the alternation of genes, which we call the norm, it is a disease. How to distinguish the disease from the norm? In my opinion, we are very selective in choosing the norm and the disease.

Edward. So you went somewhere wrong. Everyone knows the criteria of the disease. Everyone knows the picture of the patient's brain.

Elis. Perhaps in another society they would be able to live productively with these criteria and with this picture of the brain. After all, people who believe in God were able to live productively in their period of history.

Tom. Eli, in other words, are you saying that a disease is what we call a disease in a particular historical period?

Elis. Right!

Tom. In this case, ideas about the norm are erased, since the norm is changeable.

Elis. To the point!

Tom. Well, such a point of view has a right to exist! However, as you can see, today's method of treatment helps patients who believe in God. Why do they stop believing in God?

Elis. If the method works, are our ideas about the disease correct?

Tom. Exactly!

Elis. Well, the method itself is able to cure painful views, because it is created on the basis of ideas about the picture of painful views. We destroy some neural network responsible for established beliefs, and then we impose new beliefs on the patient. As a result, the patient develops a new neural network.

Tom. Elis, are you saying they're not sick?

Elis. I want to say that it is better for us to be modest with conclusions, since the history of the question shows that we do not know everything about a person! Well, I went to rest in my cabin.

John. Indeed, it is better for us to part for an indefinite time.

Tom. Of course!

Over the next six days, the crew spent time in constant discussions on various topics about the past and present situation on planet earth. From time to time, the MCC contacted the ship's crew to check the situation on the ship. After all, the Ship GEO3000 delivered the crew to their destination. When the crew saw the limits of the universe, they discovered something unimaginable. The crew found glowing with iridescent different colors whirlpool dimensionless magnitude.

John. Do you see what I see?

Tom. It's not your hallucination, I see the same thing!

Edward. Fuck, I have no words!

Tod. I never thought I'd see the unthinkable!

Elis. We will go down in history! Someone to tell – will not believe! We have reached the limits of the universe!

John. Kep begins to record a video of the maelstrom!

Cap. Recording has begun!

Elis. Well, Tod? Who said we wouldn't find anything?

Tod. Elis, it's not what we see that worries me, it's where this vortex is going.

Edward. So, I don't understand anything! The universe is not expanding? The idea is that we should not have to see the limits of the universe as the destination. We've encountered a cosmic anomaly.

Cap. Found nearby the two ships of past expeditions!

John. Kep, we understand you. Activate the engines at minimum power and head for one of the ships.

Elis. Kep, try to contact the ships!

Cap. Ships do not answer!

Tom. I don't feel comfortable. The ships are near the maelstrom and they are fully intact, but the crews are not responding to our ship's signal.

Edward. What scares me more is that the ship's crews didn't turn on the SOS.

John. We need to dock with the ship, and we will find out what happened to the crew of one of the ships. Kep create the trajectory of our ship to dock with another ship.

Cap. The trajectory is built!

GEO3000 came close to GEO2999, and GEO3000 docked with the ship's airlock. The crew went on Board the ship GEO2999.

John. Team, I will go to the bridge of the ship, and you will divide into groups and go to other parts of the ship. Let Elis and Tom check the ship's cabins, and Edward and Tod check the tail of the ship.

John went to the bridge of the ship. He was frightened by the dead silence on the ship, as if there had never been a crew on the ship. On the way to the bridge of the ship, John found no one. When he came to the bridge of the ship, he noticed that the bridge computer system was disabled, so he turned it on.

John. Onboard artificial intelligence GEO2999 scan the ship for life by heat emission.

BII GEO2999. I scanned the ship for life on the ship and found no survivors. The crew is dead.

John. Find out the cause of death.

BII GEO2999. The team committed suicide.

John. What causes suicide?

BII GEO2999. The reasons are unknown. However, there was the last video from the captain of the ship George.

John. Include. (There was a hologram of the ship's captain George)

George. If you're watching this video, you know we're dead. I don't know how to explain to you why we did this. You have to enter the whirlpool and then you will understand. (The video ended)

The entire crew came to the bridge of the ship to tell John the sad news that John already knew.

Elis. John, we have bad news. The crew is all dead. No sign of violence. They probably killed themselves.

Tom. When I saw the bodies, I was in shock. How could sane people commit suicide?

John. So they were in a deranged state.

Tom. John, did you find out anything?

John. I found out that the causes of this suicide are unknown. I looked at the video left by the ship's captain, and it didn't clarify the situation. (John turned on the video and the team watched it)

Edward. What the hell! What did they learn in the maelstrom that they decided to kill themselves?

Tod. Edward, the only way to find out is to go into the maelstrom.

Edward. No, thank you! I don't want to kill myself like this crew.

Elis. We can't risk the whole crew.

Tom. Elis right. We have accomplished our mission. We found out the reason why the crews of these ships did not communicate. We just have to tell the center!

John. Tod 's right. We need to go into the maelstrom.

Tom. Are you crazy? We don't know what they were dealing with dead crews.

John. We know the crews are back. Accordingly, what is in the whirlpool did not kill them. However, after they were in the maelstrom, they went crazy.

Elis. John, what do you suggest?

John. I'll go into the vortex.

Tom. Before you go, we need to coordinate your decision with the Center.

John. Well.

Tom. Kep connect us to the Center!

Cap. I can't connect you to the Center. You are out of reach!

Tom. Hour from hour not easier. I don't know what to do.

John. We knew what we were up to when we volunteered for the expedition. We must reach the end.

Tom. Risking his life? There could be anything in this cosmic anomaly. We are in territory beyond reason. This vortex, for instance, does not fit into astronomical theories about the universe.

John. Tom, I told you we'd make a discovery! (John Smiled)

Tom. The main thing that it was not the last!

TOD. John's right! We must find out why the crews of previous expeditions committed suicide.

John. Well. Then I'm getting ready to fly. You will follow the flight. I'll keep in touch with the drone.

John went to sit in the drone to get inside the whirlpool. The crew knew they were risking the captain's life, and they didn't know what they were up against.

Elis. John, can you hear me?

John. Yes, I hear!

Elis. Stay in touch all the time!

John. Of course!

Tom. Old man, be careful!

Edward. You are important no nonsense! Don't be a hero!

John. Team, don't worry! Nothing will happen!

Elis. In these moments, people become believers. (The crew laughed)

The drone flew out of the ship and into the heart of the maelstrom. The crew monitored the drone's flight, and when the drone hit the vortex, it disappeared from the radar of the ship's instruments. At this point, the team tried to contact John, but John did not respond.

Elis. John doesn't answer. What should we do?

Tom. There's nothing we can do now. John's on his own and we're on our own.

Edward. Tom's right. We can only wait.

Tod. I hope he comes back!

Tom. The main thing is that he returned the same person!

The crew waited for John's drone to return to the ship, but John's drone had not been on the ship's radar for hours. Elis began to worry about John.

Elis. John's been gone for hours…

Tom. Elis, don't worry! He'll be back.

Edward. SRAS! John's drone appeared on the radar! He's coming for us!

Elis. John still could!

Tod. Let's go and meet John!

John's drone flew up to the GEO3000 and docked with IT. The team was delighted with John, but John was in shock, disoriented and visibly nervous. He was drenched in sweat.

Elis. John, what's wrong with you? What happened?

John. I don't know what to tell you, we need to fly anywhere, but all to no purpose, there's nowhere to go…

Tom. John, where should we go? Why it doesn't work?

John. It's all meant to be, it's all nonsense, I was wrong, we were all wrong.

Edward went up to John and gave him a big slap in the face to bring him to his senses.

Edward. John, explain what happened…

John. We came here because it was part of a higher design, we are in a freaking game, everything is not real, everything is fiction…

Edward. John, pull yourself together! What did you see?"

John. I saw him…

Tod. John. Who did you see?"

John. Of god…

Tom. John you're not yourself! What are you talking about?" Do you know what you're saying?

Elis. John, please, you have to pull yourself together and tell me the whole story.

John. Well, I'll tell you... I was in an empty white space, and then he appeared...he was wearing a black jacket, black pants, a white shirt, and black shoes. He said that you see me like this because you are not able to perceive my true face. He held something in his right hand and came toward me, palm open. On his palm was an unprecedented beauty a small the ball. He said-This is your world! And the world around you is endless and immeasurably empty. It doesn't have the beauty of your world. We come here to go back to this tiny ball. Your world is cruel and unjust.  You need to understand that your world must have everything, otherwise I would not be able to create it…

Edward. (Edward went to Tom and whispered in His ear) He's delirious, he's hallucinatory-delusional. (Tom agreed with Edward and told him)

Tom. (Tom said quietly to Edward) He needs to be injected with neuroleptics... then we'll try to reach him. John's psyche could not stand what he saw in the maelstrom.

Elis. John, I don't know what to tell you…

Tom. Elis, I know. John, let's go to your cabin and get some sleep.

The crew took John to the cabin and gave him an injection. John fell asleep, and the team began to discuss what had happened to John.

Tom. John had an attack of schizophrenia.

Elis. No, he didn't have any DNA abnormalities, just like us.

Tom. So this is a new form of schizophrenia.

Tod. It's not like he's schizophrenic. Kep would have detected anomalies in John's psychosomatic state. Especially since you're saying that the previous crews who killed themselves also had schizophrenia?

Elis. I support, Toda.

Tom. What do you mean?" That John was telling the truth?

Tod. I don't know if he's telling the truth, but he faced the unthinkable, which changed him beyond recognition. I think we need to hear it through.

Tom. All right, we'll listen to him. In the meantime, I'll tell Kep to plot a route back home. Away from this place.

Elis. Well.

John slept for several hours, and the crew were in the dining room discussing what had happened. They couldn't believe what was happening, so they waited for John to say. John came into the dining-room and spoke to them. He looked rested and sane.

John. I know you don't believe me, but it happened the way I told it.

Tom. Let's say you're right that you saw God, but you take our place. You've been in the maelstrom for hours, and we don't know what you're up against. You said you were talking to God. What else did he tell you?

John. He said no one created you, you always were, so he couldn't answer the question of where we came from. We came from nowhere.

Tom. What then is its function?

John. His task is to combine the contradictory properties of mind and matter, so that countless souls can get into this attraction and have fun in it…

Tom. I don't understand ... that we're in this world for fun?

John. We are in this world to meet it... we have evolved to reach the limit of the universe and see it…

Tod. That's actually all...we have reached an evolutionary peak... this peak is a meeting with God. What do we do, John?

John. I don't know what we're going to do, because they won't believe us on earth... they're going to give us a neurosurgery to cure us...They're going to do it like they did millions of people in past generations.

Elis. John's right. We encountered an unsolvable anomaly that previous crews had encountered and that caused them to commit suicide. Apparently, there is a material world, and there are our beliefs about the material world. We must admit that our beliefs about the material world are wrong.

John. Previous crews committed suicide because their world collapsed when they met God. They realized that humanity has made a big mistake.

Tom. I'm more surprised that neuroleptics don't work. Did you really see God?

Edward. (Edward has begun to speak, and does not believe himself to say it) I am Afraid we must lie. Humanity is not ready to meet God…

Tod. Here's the problem…

Elis. Then we must fly back and say that the expedition was a failure. We haven't found the ships, and we haven't reached the limits of the universe.

John. I think the MCC should believe. We have to come to earth and live our normal lives as if we don't know what we've learned…

Tom. You're right, because it's in our best interest…

John. By the way, since we decided to hide this news from earth, we should delete the video of the whirlpool…

Elis. John's right.

Tom. Well, ladies and gentlemen, on your way back to earth!

GEO3000 arrived on earth, and the MCC met the ship. No one guessed what the expedition had been through. As if nothing had happened, the crew went about their daily business on the ground. John and Elis got married, and they periodically reminisced about what they were up against. Tom went on to practice psychotherapy. Tod returned to the family, and he never told his family the story. Edward could not move away from the events of the expedition. Everything remained a secret. Humanity never knew that John had met God.
