Chapter 7

Chapter 7

"He died because of the accident," his Uncle said to them while Lily was not by herself, sitting in the hospital. Her hands and her white uniform are covered with the blood of his own father. She couldn't think properly after what she saw.

"It was a cruel accident," her mother added.

"Accident? That is fvcking ridiculous, Mom!" she shouted with a glimpse of anger from her voice. Tears couldn't stop from falling in her eyes. She knew she was torn apart and that she just wanted to die as well. Her father died and how is she supposed to continue her life the next day without him?

Can you believe it? Her mother is turning a blind eye to the real death of her father. Lily can't just understand why she is acting like this. They are all pathetic, making her believe their absurd reason for his father's death.

"Lily, there are witnesses who told the police that it was all a car accid—"

Lily cackled, mocking her Aunt who was still alive that day.

"Car accident my fvcking ass! There are tons of bullets on the road and I saw with my own eyes the shots on my father's body so don't tell me that it was an accident when it clearly is not!"

She looks miserable. It hurts her so much as if she was being curled like a piece of paper by someone's hand. Her family talking sh*ts about her father tearing her apart even more.

"Lily, calm dow—" she quickly moved away before her mother could even touch her. Her eyes shifted at her, looking at her like she was a criminal that she could never forgive for the rest of her life.

"Don't act blind, Mom. You know it's not an accident…"

Have you ever experienced shivering inside you because of the anger you feel? As if you are a volcano that is about to erupt anytime. Like a bomb who could blast in a moment.

"What kind of wife are you?" Lily stated in her cold voice.

"How dare you!" Her palm went on her cheeks after the words she said to her. A tear made of grief, anger, and pain fell down again as she eyed her mother.

She smirked and nodded. It was the day she looked down on her mother. The day she hated all of them for not seeking justice for her beloved father.

If they won't seek justice, then she would be the one to seek it at all costs.

"Lily,"

Aemon was staring at her worriedly. She just realized that she was looking at her mother who's conversing with different people with a huge smile on her lips. It was the smile of a delighted woman. Not the smile of a wife who lost her husband. She crumpled the napkin on the table and cooled herself from the anger that was about to burst anytime.

That is all she can remember everytime she will stare to her mother. It's not like before anymore. She feels like she has a different mother from the mother she knew before.

"Are you okay?" Aemon asked. When he looked at where her eyes were, he saw Lily's mother talking with different people around. They are already at the reception for their wedding. Everyone is busy interacting with each other and some are simply enjoying the food. Now, he knows why she looks like that.

"Yeah," she said and looked away. "I'm just tired."

"You did not touch the food yet," Aemon said.

"You did not touch yours yet," she answered back. Aemon kept leaving her alone in front. She can really see how busy he is. He looks workaholic too. Numerous people are coming at them and keep stealing her husband from her for a moment. She even overheard some of their conversation and it was all about business. He's indeed an influential man.

"I got busy," he replied and sighed before he began to eat.

"You're working on our wedding," Lily said and teased him. She was about to cut the steak when Aemon exchanged their plates and gave her the steak that he already cut by himself. Lily froze for a moment and glanced at him beside her. It reminds him of his deceased father who used to cut her steak for her. Aemon acting like him makes her heartbeat weird more than usual.

"I'm sorry. My grandmother invited some of our clients here," he explained and shook his head exhaustedly.

"I can see that," Lily saud and disregarded how Aemon takes care of him.

"Do you want to meet them?" he asked.

She immediately shook her head. "I don't like interacting with people,"

"But you interact with Dash," Aemon brought up, creating a small argument between them.

"Oh, shut up. Dash is my best friend," she said all over again.

"I know," he simply said.

"Where do I sleep?" Lily asked and changed the topic. Starting tonight, she will be living with Aemon on one roof.

"In my house, of course."

She wonders how huge his house is. He probably owns a huge mansion.

"Excuse me," both of their eyes were caught by Dash when he suddenly appeared in front of them holding a box of a gift in his hands. His eyes went to Aemon for a moment before shifting back to Lily.

"Dash," Lily called and smiled widely.

"Congratulations," Lily gave him a tight hug and you can see how she misses hanging out with him. Meanwhile, Aemon was just staring at them, watching his wife embrace that man. He didn't even realize that he was already squeezing the fork in his bare hand. Those eyes of him were filled with darkness as if the beast who was sleeping inside was about to wake up.

"Thanks for coming," Lily said.

"Can I borrow her for a while?" Lily did not anticipate that when Dash looked behind her, pertaining to Lily's husband behind her. Lily gulped when she realized that. She knows how Aemon became jealous and acted like a child when he saw them together.

"I want to ask for your permission...you're his husband after all."

Her eyes were playing between Dash and Aemon. They are both staring at each other and creating a fire between them. Lily can feel the tension all of a sudden that she was scared to stop them.

"Sure," Aemon said before drinking the wine in the glass in one drink.

"Come on," Dash said and held her hand. But then, Lily's eyes were too focused on her husband who's clenching his jaw while looking out of nowhere as if he was trying to look away from them. Out of the blue, she felt like she didn't want to go and left Aemon anxious here.

At the end, both of them started to walk away from Aemon. His eyes were watching his wife with her best friend walking away from him. He's starting to boil like hot water. He suddenly wanted to punch something to burst his anger.

"Do you have something to tell me?" Lily asked directly and cut to the chase as she didn't want to leave for long.

"Why? Are you worried about your husband?" Dash asked and chuckled.

He was indeed teasing him not until Lily nodded sincerely. "I am," she replied and gave him a small smile on her lovely lips. "He's actually jealous of you," Lily brings up.

"Why would he?" Dash asked innocently.

"I don't know,"

Dash took a deep breath. "I'm just not expecting this wedding, Lily. How come you didn't tell me anything?"

"It was an arranged marriage," Lily admitted as they stopped walking and finally faced each other.

"Arranged marriage? You let them control your marriage?" In his face right now, he's probably confused.

"Of course not…but I have no choice but to obey my Uncle. You know, since my Dad died we've been miserable, especially my mother. I don't know who she is anymore," a bitter smile flashed on her lips.

"What if that man is not a good man? Well, I did some research and he's fvcking rich, Lily." She almost laughed at that. Aemon Cooper is not just an existing man in this world. He has all the power in his hands. No wonder he has a lot of enemies.

"He's not a bad man," Lily said, having the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she doesn't know him well enough to be in this marriage. But the short days are enough to identify his kindness as a person. He may be a Mafia boss who kills people, but he only kills if they first tried to end his life. That is all he could see towards him. He is even caring and he appreciates all his small efforts towards her.

"Do you even love him?" That made her freeze for a moment. It's the hardest question to answer right now.

"I don't know," she simply answered. "I must go back."

"My gift," he handed her the box and finally ready to let her go and come back to her husband. Aemon was not looking away at them from afar. He's watching all their moves sharply.

"Thank you, Dash."

"Call me if you need me," Lily nodded before they both hugged each other for the meantime.

"I'm back," Lily said after coming back to their table.

"Yeah," he replied coldly.

"Don't tell me you're jealous again, huh?" Lily chuckled unbelievably.

"Stop it. Don't you want to go home?" he asked exhaustedly, giving her those sleepy eyes of his.

"Why do you suddenly want to go home?" she asked in confusion.

"Nothing," her eyebrows raised at him, giving him a suspicious look.

"Don't tell me we're gonna have sex? It's our honeymoon," Lily gave him a seductive look but only to tease him.

"Don't seduce me…" she gasped when Aemon pulled her on her waist closer to him. Now, there is only one small distance between them. "I might fall into that."

She pushed him on his broad chest and looked away for a second. Lily took that chance to chase her breathing.

"I'm just joking,"

"Do you want to leave or not?" Aemon asked for the second time.

"Is it feasible?" she asked while looking at the visitors.

"Everything's possible to me, wife."

The way he addressed her like that made her freeze already. It's like a music in her ears—an addictive music she can never refrain herself from listening to.

"But there are a lot of people and the program isn't done y—"

"No buts," she wasn't able to go against him when he already held her hand and they both walked together. The people did not even suspect them leaving the reception. They all think that they will just go somewhere for a while.

"Your grandmother will be mad, Aemon!" Lily said aloud nervously.

"Oh, don't worry about her. We're married, there's nothing to be mad at."

Aemon drove the car while Lily was just sitting in the back seat because of her gown. She will not fit in the passenger seat.

"Is this yours?" Lily asked when she saw a long and huge mansion shining with its lights around.

"Ours," he corrected as they drove inside a long pathway. He owns a lot of land as well. Everything's organized in this place.

"The maids might be sleeping already," he uttered when he opened the door for her and helped her get out of the car.

"Where's my things?" she asked while her eyes were wandering around. How are they supposed to find each other here? This house is a lot bigger than her Uncle's house. This man is d*mn rich just like what Dash researched.

"In our room," Dash said.

"We're sharing a room? But there are a lot of rooms," Lily said after seeing all the doors upward.

"We're married not siblings to have different rooms," Aemon said and shook his head at her before walking on the extensive stairs.

"This is our room," Aemon said and opened the door for her. His scent welcomed her as she sat foot inside his room. It is not just a normal and simple room. It's already a condo in her eyes. The room is fvcking big for the two of them. The bed is huge as well and everything here is d*mn expensive. She will not afford to pay any of the things inside.

But then, all of this is also hers now. It's just hard to fit in and process in her mind that this is also hers starting tonight.

"Are we gonna have sex?" She joked again. Not until she turned around and Aemon was standing firm behind her. His hands went on her waist again while those exquisite eyes of his locked from hers.

She gulped nervously and regretted joking around. They are in their room and they are supposed to have a honeymoon tonight. It is not impossible to happen just like that. They can both feel the affection—and warmth they are giving towards each other.

"I will not have sex with you or make love with you without your permission," he moved away and removed his coat. He started to unbutton his clothes while she was just standing there.

"Huh?" She was too naive to answer that moment.

"I will never touch you, unless you asked for it. That is how I respect you, Lily Cooper."

A small kiss on her forehead—that is what he left at her before heading straight to the bathroom, half-naked.
