Chapter 78 - Stirring of the Past

Yvette and Nathan entered the police headquarters, where they were promptly attended to by the officers. Nathan explained the reason for their visit, and they were directed to the officer in charge of the case.

Settling down, the inspector requested Nathan to leave, but Yvette insisted that he stay. After a brief hesitation, the inspector acquiesced.

He began with the questions. "What happened that night?"

Yvette glanced at Nathan for reassurance, and he nodded encouragingly. Taking a deep breath, she began her account. "Mia and I had gone to visit my dad, and we decided to spend the night at his place. We had exams the next day, so we brought along our study materials to prepare. We stayed in the study room while Dad brought us snacks. He had some work to do on his computer, so he stayed with us for a while until he was done. When leaving, he encouraged us to get some sleep, which we nodded to, but we couldn't really rest."
