Ch. 52

I opened the door to a very disgruntled Nate. His eyes were narrowed and his lips pressed into a thin line. He hadn’t cleaned himself off or changed clothes yet.

“Hey, what’s up?” I asked, slightly confused as to why he would come see me now.

“I heard about the way you had those visions. Rain, you can’t keep projecting. You could die with the person you are projecting into. So far you’ve gotten lucky and left their bodies just before their last breath.” Nate said furiously. He seemed upset at me, but I had no control over this. “In fact, I heard you died, for a moment, earlier tonight.” A small puff of smoke left his nostrils.

“I have no control over this Nate. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even know what I was doing until I had died at that moment. Peregrine explained it to me a little when I came to. Trust me I don’t want to keep doing it. It scares me too.” At my words Nate's anger seemed to subside but only slightly.
