Chapter 39 Disobedient People Have to Be Punished

"Why did you rush back so early in the morning?" Avery dusted herself off before helping Josephine up.

Lewis glanced at the both of them before stopping his gaze at Josephine's face. He ignored Avery and asked, "Where are you going?"

"What does it have to do with you? Her legs are hers, she can go anywhere she wants. She's not your pet, does she have to report her every movement to you?" Avery interjected, sneering.

Lewis turned toward Avery, his tone flat, "Avery Green, don't think you can keep challenging my patience because you have Tyler behind you."

Avery scoffed, "Don't bring him into every conversation. Come at me if you dare. You think I'm afraid of you?"

Lewis sneered, "There's no competition with a dumb woman like you. Were you thinking of taking her away? If you weren't Tyler's sister, do you think you would still be alive right now?"
