The baby was asleep at the back of the car, country music playing softly on the radio and Leslie watching the roads with familiarity.

“Are you okay, kid?”

“I just realised how much I miss home. So much has changed since I moved out of here.”

“We can take a detour; look around before heading for your parent’s place.”

“We can?”

“We still have time; they expect us for dinner. I want to know everything about your childhood in your little town.”

“I know a great place we can have lunch, get free stuffs, take pictures, have fun...” Leslie mentioned and I laughed.

He flushed, looking bright red to his neck as he averted his eyes with a cheeky smile.

“What’s so funny? I got excited.” He pouted like a toddler.

“You stole my breath away when you smiled like that.”

“Stop flirting with me or else.”

“Or else what?”

Leslie caught me off guard, his doe eyes bigger and focused on melting my soul with the brightest blush on his face.

“Or else I’ll break up with you.”

“Hold your horse’s kid.”
