For a couple of days, Xara hadn't seen her husband after what had happened. She hadn't breathed a word to her friends or her mom and they didn't suspect a thing. She behaved normally as if nothing had happened.

“Sorry, I didn't--- Kai?" Xara called out shocked. Her husband looked dishevelled. It was as if he hadn't showered nor slept for a few days now. He wanted to bypass her and enter into the room but she blocked his path.

She couldn't let him beat himself up anymore for this. It had already happened and the harm couldn't be undone.

“Just let me through, please." He softly spoke as she made way for him to enter following closely before he shut the door in her face.

“Kai." She placed her hand on his shoulder. He pushed her hands-off as he was about walking off when she grabbed his arm.

“ You can't keep doing this to yourself, the harm has already been done. Just try to forget it and move on." She advised.

“Just leave." He pointed at the door as she sighed walking out.

I hope he would be fine. Xara thought to herself walking to her room.

Mike was impressed at his wife's sudden change. He was glad that she was back to herself. The Mabel he fell in love with and married. He was happy they were starting a family of their own after months of him trying to convince her.

In a long while, Mabel was finally happy. She was glad she met Kai again for them to iron out their differences and say their final goodbye. She was happy she finally agreed to start a family with her husband.

I hope Xara and Kai are doing good together.

I pray Kai headed to my plea as well. She pondered.

A couple of weeks later, Kai was much better and had cut down his alcohol intake. Xara was proud of him, even though he was still ignoring her. She, Penny and Alianna was travelling to the Bahamas for their holidays and a break from this bondage she called marriage. She wasn't ready to meet anyone, all she wanted was peace of mind and a change of scenery. She just needed time to forget what had inspired between herself and Kai.

“I hope you girls stay safe," Amanda told them as they packed their bags.

“We will and we're going to miss you as well," Xara added.

“I'd miss you more, the house would be lonely without you around." She answered.

“I know you've been going to see Xara even when I warned you not to,"  Ken said behind her.

“How can you stop a mother from seeing her child? Do you have an idea of what she's going through in that house?" Zoe raised her voice at him. She wasn't scared of him any more. She wasn't going to let him intimidate her any more. Enough is enough.

“I would let it slide this time around, the next time you go to see her against my wish, you wouldn't like what's going to happen." His voice boomed.

“Nothing would happen dear, nothing." She boldly replied shocking him.

He was about saying something but he let it be and stormed off to only God knows where.

“This scenery is beautiful!" Penny added raising her hands up in the air. They had checked into their hotels and headed off to the beach. They were on a speed boat enjoying the weather and the breeze as well. Xara pit away all her worries and enjoyed the moment while it lasted because she was aware she wasn't going to enjoy this ever with her husband. Maybe with her children shortly but with Kai, she doubted.

Funny enough, with all that had been going on she still managed to develop feelings for Kai which was a shock for her as well.

How could I fall for such a man? Did she question herself?

Love knows no boundaries. Her heart answered.

“Sexy guys approaching." Alianna prompted. Xara wasn't interested in any of them. She was a married woman and she made a vow to stay faithful. Even if her husband did. Two wrongs never made a right.

“Hi, I am Nik and you are?" One of the guys with hazel eyes and black messy hair introduced her.

“I'm Xara and married." She said making sure he saw her ring.

Alianna and Penny decided to stay with Nik and his friends, Gray and Nelson while Xara headed into the hotel for some food and relaxation. She was going to enjoy every service provided before they went back to Brooklyn, NY.

“Is it true your friend is married or that's a fake ring?" Nik chuckled making Alianna angry. She took a deep breath before she answered him.

“Yes, Xara Maximilian is married." She stressed on the Maximilian to draw their attention to whom she was married to.

“Oh, okay." Nik gulped.

“Yes," Penny replied sensing his uncomfortable state.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight

Not a footprint to be seen

A kingdom of isolation

And it looks like I'm the queen

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside

Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I've tried

Don't let them in, don't let them see

Be the good girl you always have to be

Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know

Well, now they know

Let it go, let it go

Can't hold it back anymore

Let it go, let it go

Turn away and slam the door

I don't care what they're going to say

Let the storm rage on

The cold never bothered me anyway

It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small

And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all

It's time to see what I can do

To test the limits and breakthrough

No right, no wrong, no rules for me

I'm free

Let it go, let it go

I am one with the wind and sky

Let it go, let it go

You'll never see me cry

Here I stand and here I stay

Let the storm rage on..."

“Babe, how many times do you want to watch Frozen?" Mike pouted giving Mabel a peck on her temple.

“Um, forever!" She exclaimed making him smile.

“How's my baby doing?" He asked placing his hands on her tummy as the baby kicked.

“He's fine and hungry." She chuckled.

“What do you crave for?" He inquired.

“Some French fries with wings in spicy bbq sauce and some cookie dough ice cream please." She placed her order.

“Coming right up!" Mike added walking into the kitchen to prepare her food.

He was a happy man now.

He was glad she had ended her affair with Kai. He was aware she was cheating but didn't say anything about it. He wasn't the best husband then but he changed as soon as he realised the changes in her. Deep down, he knew his Mabel was there, waiting to come back after she realised her mistakes, he couldn't be any happier than he was right now.

Love, they say is patient. He smiled at the thought.

Epilogue. " So you mean you're part of the Mafia?" Lorenzo asked as they walked along the streets. The street lights laminated their paths as they took a stroll. " Of course, I am their lawyer...a Mafia lawyer," she explained. " Okay, that explains the men you came along with to help us out." " Yeah," she answered. " For how long have you been a Mafia lawyer?" he couldn't help but ask. " After law school, when my dad died. I had no choice but to take over because I was my father's successor that's why he sent me to law school in the first place. At first, I didn't want to be a part of it but I had no choice when he threatened to disown me. I had nowhere to go or to start from so I obeyed him and after he died I became their lawyer. I was sceptical at first but when time went on, I got used to it and decided to stay." she explained. " I see," he answered. Lorenzo and Kenzie headed over to her plac

" We meet again Kai Maximilian," Valerie curled her lip pointing a gun at Elon's head. " What do you want?" he interrogated as another masked man held Xara down. " Chill, Kai. A little payback won't hurt," she laughed like a maniac. " Why did I involve myself with you in the first place?" he blurted out. " Because I could give it to you real good. Something none of your bitches could do," she let out a dry laugh. " Yeah right," " I loved you, Kai, since high school. But you ignored me. You reported to management that I was stalking you and hurt some of the girls you went out with. Of course, I did all that. But I still loved you, so after college, I tracked you. But you didn't recognise me. I had changed. We were fine until Mabel came in, but she was a scaredy-cat so she ran off. Then you went for her, I thought she would leave as her sister did. She didn't. Weeks had passed and Lorenzo had been discharged from the hospital. Kai spent more time with his family, he came to check on his wife and son regularly. He even spent some nights in Xara's house, he hadn't yet summoned the courage to ask them to move back in with him. He needed all this mess to be over before he asked them to move in. Now more than ever, Lorenzo was determined to find Valerie. He needed to find her and end this madness once and for all. He knew she was hiding in a town not far away from Brooklyn, NY and how she had made a living for herself. What he needed right now was an insider to monitor her footsteps and plans. He had been able to track down the assassin she hired. Time to pay him a nice visit. " Boss, I need a favour." " Kenzie, what kind of favour do you want?" he asked her. " I need men to track down a certain someone who almost killed people I've come care about," she told him. She was a mafia lawyer, a

" Xara, Elon...move!" Lorenzo got there just in time to take the bullet for them. " Aaah!" Xara gripped Elon's hand as a crowd gathered around them. The bullet hit Lorenzo's right arm, getting to his chest. He lay in a pool of blood as Xara stood frozen, she felt blood trickle down her legs. " Call an ambulance please," Lorenzo called out in pain. Elon held onto his mother's legs crying and terrified at the scene that just unfolded in front of them. The paramedics gently put Lorenzo onto the stretcher and helped Xara into the ambulance as well as Elon as they were rushed to the hospital. " Next time, don't miss the target., Valerie said into the assassin's AirPods " Got it, boss," the masked man responded blending into the crowd after he fled from the scene. AJ lay in Valerie's bed fast asleep. She sat up smoking a cigarette lost in thought. He's not a bad company. I could hang around him for a while before discarding him, besides he's got the dough. Isn't that what everyone wants? She chuckled. She stole another glance at him. He slept peacefully as if he had no care in this world. No troubles, no nothing. He slept like a newborn babe. Valerie wore her robe and descended the stairs to the kitchen. Her tummy was rumbling and she decided to fix breakfast for both of them since he was already here. She finished with their breakfast an

"I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there." Valerie apologized bumping into a handsome young man. He looked sophisticated. " It's fine, don't worry about it..." he trailed off. Her hand bent over to pick up the clutch she intentionally dropped when she bumped into him. " That's fine, I would see you around then." she turned around to go. She began to count in her head 1..2...and 3. "Excuse me," the man called her back. Works like magic, she said to herself walking towards him. " Umm, you called." she bit down her lips seductively. " Yeah, here's my card. Call me when you get to your destination. I'd love for us to have dinner, to get to know ourselves better." he stared at her cleavage. " I'd love to Sir," she responded. " Call me Ajax...AJ for short," he told her. " Alright AJ, I'm Valerie...and it was nice meeting you.

“ Valerie, what else do you want from him? You made it out of jail, made money, and you're living an obedient life. What at all do you need again?” Well, the caller asked. “ Oh, I don't need anything from him but a small payback,” she smirked. “ Payback for what? Haven't you done enough already? Haven't you caused adequate harm to him and his family… What do you want?” the caller said in frustration. “ Payback they say is a…bitch. The scumbag made me rot in that vile following cell. He humiliated me in front of everyone. For now, I'm just focusing on making else money, waiting for my jailbreak saga to die down, and then I strike when he least expects it.” she laughed hysterically. “ You're one nut job…” ******** “ Mr. Ken Wilson, 55 years of age, father of two. Lina and Lana rang the doorbell again waiting for an answer. It had been long they last saw their brother and his wife. The last time they saw him was at his wedding. " Surprise, surprise," Lina said as Penny got the door. "Oh my...come on in. It's been a while we saw you girls." Penny said as they walked in. " Thanks, you have a beautiful home by the way." Lana complimented. " Thanks, please have a seat and what do I get you?" she inquired. " Anything you have at home." they both answered at the same time. " Just a minute," Penny said as she hurried into the kitchen to get them something to eat. Ah, right timing. " Babe," Penny answered her phone. " Hey, sweetheart... how's your day going?" Lyle asked his wife. " It's going great, Lina and Lana are here by the way," she told him. Oh, really?" he raised his brow. " Yeah," she answered setting two glasses and a bottle of win
