Prologue
The wedding hall was packed to the brim . The nobles mixed with the commoners to witness the bride and bridegroom exchange vows to their matrimonial journey . Chapter One
The conference room of the Paradise Cures Hospital was a bee-hive of activity . Dignitaries from diverse backgrounds intermingled freely , sharing pleasantries and drinks . It was not only an auspicious occasion , but also a historic day in the history of the subjects of South End as Grace ,their daughter , had demystified the age-old chauvinism not only to become the first ever woman to venture into the hitherto male-exclusive territory of medicine , but had also gone ahead to discover the unique drug . Today , her company was officially launching the miracle drug after winning the Research Development Award from the Academy of Sciences and a greenlight from the World Health Organization .At thirty-seven , Grace's person could be described as fantabulously gorgeous , almost angelic . Being neither too short nor too tall , her curvaceous figure could only be contrasted with her brilliant brains . She was aptly described in many circles as ' beauty with brains ' .

Grace took the microphone as they reached the podium . On either side , they were flanked by both of their parents , Mr. & Mrs . Andrew and Mr. & Mrs. Deremare . The significance of your presence here today cannot be overemphasized . As the launch ended , Mr . and Mrs. Andrew invited Alex's parents to dinner in their home . Most people took them for very close friends , but the two families knew otherwise . Having migrated from the East about fifty years ago when one wealthy family had alienated their property , the two families had stayed close to each other , sharing their fortunes and misfortunes . Grace arrived at the Caleb Manufacturers gate at ten minutes to ten in the morning . She was surprised at the number of armed guards patrolling the compound . It was intimidating to her given that her facility was guarded by a meer four unarmed guards , two during daytime and two at night . She wondered what was manufactured therein that warranted such heavy security . Worse still , and despite the many surveillance cameras all over , she was taken through a rigorous security checks that almost drained her patience .She was personally met at the main door by Jack .
