KLAUS' POV "She came into my office crying after Kayden left, so I told her to get down on the couch and a few minutes later, she was fast asleep."My mother frowns and points behind me. Lisa's room isn't located on this floor.""I know. Before she fell asleep in my office, we were talking about me taking her on a short exotic trip to ease her mind with Jonas’ leaving earth for Epsilon. "My father crosses his arms and gives me a hard stare. "Have you thought this through? Do you know the kind of field day the press would have had if they caught wind of what you're about to do? ""She's now part of the family. She's more or less like a sister to me now. If Kayden manages to pull this off, we would become even closer than we are right now. There's nothing to worry about because Luke is also coming along with us to act as a chaperone. It would suffice in case Kayden asks about Lisa and me being to

Lisa's POV   I follow Klaus and Luke as they walk past another door leading to an elegant hallway that seemed to be secluded from the rest of the airport. We were ushered into a limo that was parked outside waiting for us. Klaus must have been planning this for quite some time now for this plan to be going so smoothly. I pick a seat closer to the door and across from Klaus. Luke is sitting close to the partition separating us from the driver as they converse in what I can only assume to be French. "What do you think he's telling the driver?" I asked Klaus. Klaus shrugs, pulling out his phone as it buzzed in his pocket. "I have no idea, but I can only hope it's what I hold him. We were headed." "I thought you knew French." My voice had a condescending tone to it. Exasperated, he rolls his eyes at me before returning them to his phone. "Shut your mouth and stop bothering me." Luke turns arou

KLAUS' POV For the briefest of moments, her eyes shine brightly before her face falls. "I don't want you to get our hopes up? What if your plan goes into shambles and you fail to marry me? ""Then I'll be left with no option but to make frequent secret visits outside of the country.""Our commitment to the laws set in place to keep us apart from each other is pretty pathetic. We're going to end up in trouble if anybody gets to know about this."I kiss her forehead. "For starters, I'm going to come to visit you in your room tonight. I think getting into trouble kind of suits me when it comes to things concerning you. "She furrows her eyebrows at me. "Where have your morals gone? I thought you were raised to be a gentleman. ""I think my morals flew out the window when I decided to come to see you here." I grin at her. "I won't stay long to avoid putting you into a scandal here in the palace.""I'll be lo

LISA'S POV The twins approach us, and I curtsey them as best as I could, grateful I didn't make a mess of myself in front of several clicking cameras. Antoinette's curtsey is a lot more graceful than mine. While the three men all bow at each other at the same time. I was becoming a lot more comfortable in front of the camera but my nerves were still on a high. Antoine says something to Luke in French, who in turn acts as a translator for both Klaus and me. He says he hosted this ball in honor of the entourage from the Council and my eyebrows go up. Is there something going on that I had no idea of?Klaus releases my hold on his arm and approaches Antoinette with a smile, offering her his hand which she accepts and he guides her to an empty spot on the dance floor. Luke's eyes land on Tiffany, standing a few meters behind the twins and he goes over to ask her to dance. Knowing Luke's disdain for women, I didn't know how we

KLAUS' POV A chorus of screams comes from inside the palace pulling Luke and Antoinette away from each other instantly. I saw Lisa flinch out of the corner of my eyes and I place my hand on her shoulder to prevent her from getting up and I hold my breath. I have enough to deal with already and having to deal with the odd pair knowing that we saw all that transpired between them isn't something I want to add to my plate. I'll rather act like I wasn't here till they leave.Luke and Antoinette hurriedly make their way out of our site and once they're gone, I remove my hand from Lisa's shoulder and rush out of the shadows heading inside. Lisa follows me, right on my heels. The guests in the rooms were piling up at the entrance making it impossible for us to pass through by forcing our way through the sea of bodies. Luke and Antoinette walk towards the door, coming from the right. Antoinette yells something in French an
