Ferguson’s POVWe had finally moved back to my condo though Claudia still had the audacity to follow us. She had my mother's grave but for how long. The physician assured me that I would have a quick recovery provided I slept, which I could not do.So Stella had not so much as given me a minor finger lift in three days. She would snatch my telephone away or lock my computer and tell me off anytime I attempted leaving.I made a bad mistake this morning when I said about work. She stood still and crossed her arms and said,> “You step out of this house, Ferguson, it’ll be over my dead body. I’m not cleaning up another pool of your blood.”That shut me up fast. She didn’t even sound angry, just scared. And that scared me too.I sat on the couch feigning to read, and the doorbell went down.I opened my eyes and I was on my feet."Sit down!" she yelled from the kitchen.“I’m not a patient.”“You are until I say otherwise.”I grumbled and sat back down.A few seconds later, the door opened,

Ferguson’s POV*A WEEK LATER*A breath of relaxation escaped my lips when the doctor changed the final stitch, it’s been a whole week since the incident, Claudia left without a word and Stella became bossier than ever.I don’t blame her though; I’m a bit stubborn but I have a freaking company to run.“So, doc, can I finally do some work? Like actual work,” I said, the side of my eyes facing Stella. The doc let out a small laugh after noticing my facial direction, “yes you can, but you still need to be careful, you don’t want a third tear.”Stella raised her face like she had just won an invisible battle, “thanks doc, I keep telling him, but you know...” she faced me with a wide grin on her face, “men.”Is that supposed to be a diss or a compliment...The doctor chuckled softly, scribbling down something on a piece of paper, “you’ll need to get this at the pharmacy,” he handed it over to Stella.Great! More drugs...She nodded gently as the doctor quietly left the room, Stella quickly

Ferguson’s POVI wasn’t supposed to hear it.But I did.Her voice was low, careful, almost scared to be honest but the words hit harder than any bullet ever could. She liked me.Or maybe she didn’t.Hell, I didn’t even know anymore. All I knew was that hearing her talk about “playing safe” made something in me twist.I sat there, with my eyes half shut and my head on her shoulder, and I was acting asleep when my head. The closeness of her voice, how she was whispering on the phone to Megan, it was too realistic.“You can’t leave him or you’re in love with him, which one?”That was what her friend said. And when Stella didn’t answer right away… yeah, that silence said everything. And when Stella did not answer so immediately... that was all you needed to know.I had a desire to open my eyes and say that I experienced it the same.It was that I should not be sleeping because I was tired, but because I could not continue to look at her without wanting more. After she hung up I could have

Ferguson’s POVThe monitor kept beating softly reminding us that there was still life, Megan kept forwarding some pitiful glances towards me but Jimmy... if he was allowed, he would throw me off the hospital roof without a second thought and that’s a hundred percent valid.“I need to go out for a second, keep an eye on him,” Jimmy said loud enough for me to hear, I was still sat next to Stella who was fast asleep. The minute Jimmy left, Megan placed her hand on my shoulder, “she wouldn’t want you to worry and you didn’t expect something like that to happen, if anyone should get guilty, it should me, I invited her out and hence... this.”Her voice broke, she was trying hard not to cry, I raised my hand to pat her palm, “thanks... I need to use the restroom, I’ll be out soon,” she turned and left.I took out my phone to call Jonathan; we need to end these stunts before it’s gets too messy, after the first ring, he picked up then a nurse came in to attend to Stella.“Hey man, were you ab

Stella’s POV*TWO DAYS LATER*A fresh breath of air escaped my lips as my legs were folded in the bed, a soggy smile on my lips, I turned slightly and Megan was everywhere arranging everything for them to head back home, it’s been two days and not even a text from Ferguson.A phone buzzed, my eyes glittered with hope but unfortunately it was Megan’s phone, she was oblivious to the fact that I had high hopes for something I wasn’t too sure of, she backed me, but my hands fondled with the hospital bed covers.“Are you ready now?” she said softly, finally arranging everything in one place.“I guess,” my voice tried to sound steady, but I felt too weak and too broken. She turned to face me with a small saggy smile, shaking her head slightly, “you guess... or you’re waiting for someone...”I pouted softly, “who told you that I’m waiting for someone,” my gaze was everywhere but her gaze.“Then why are you avoiding my gaze,” she had a grin on her lips, walking close to me, “I know it’s been
