Sir CarlosThe paper I held in my hands felt like a joke. At this point, I'd think my wife was playing a skit on me. The report had DNA as its title but the DNA of who it was baffled me.“Honey, whose DNA is this matching? And why are you going about trying to do DNA tests?” I finally found my voice minutes after I composed myself.“You wouldn't believe it, it's little bunny's,” her eyes filled themselves to the brim. Her behavior surprised me, I expected her to be all over the room, jumping and squealing about in excitement.“Are you sure it's little bunny's DNA?” I rolled my eyes at her, trying to see if I could sense any level of suspicion from her. “The level of excitement I am supposed to be getting from you is not what I'm seeing.”She moved closer to me, whispering. “I know but then Bree and Francis are in the house. They do not need to know what's going on just yet. It would break Bree. At least not yet, she does not need to know.”“Oh,” I laid so much emphasis on the "oh”, fi

AlexanderAs soon as the plane hit the runway of Carlton airport, my fear heightened. My palms were becoming sweaty and I was shifting uncomfortably in my seat, staring out at th3 window too. I was pretty sure that my current attitude was giving me away.“Sir Alex, are you okay?” Felix asked, holding the set of brushes and other things I bought.“I'm okay, I'm just a little stressed,” I forced out a smile trying to ease the whole place. But he knew better, it was all a facade. We alighted from the plane and walked through the arrival section.“I'm going to book us a ride to take us home,” I said. Before I could continue with what I was doing, I saw the driver of Lady Selene walking towards me.“Sir Alexander, please follow me,” he judged forward and bowed.Saying I was surprised was an understatement. This lady knew me like her own child. “How did she know I was going to show up here tonight?”“She had a hunch, let's call it that,” he opened the back seat for Felix and I. The only bel

Melissa After her explanation, the only word that could free itself from the captivity of my mouth was wow. I was beyond surprised. I turned to look at the man who sat opposite me, he refused to look at me. Still gaping at whatever amused him on the table, I called out first. “Mr Billionaire,” every single word of mine reeked of anger covered in sarcasm. “Is it true?” His head gently went up and the only thing he did was nod in affirmation. “This can't be possible,” the lady who we just both found out that she was adopted kept mumbling. Yeah, her name is Bree. Bree kept mumbling that. She was one minute away from losing it. Her eyes were glassy and the stares she directed to me were full of hate. “So after all these while, you think now is the right time to tell me that I'm adopted,” she screamed, standing up and banging her hands on the table simultaneously. Yup, she was definitely a spoiled brat. No one said a word to her. I guess they knew how irrational she behaved. “You,

Bree Normally I'd plan my next day the night before. And when I saw Alexander's impromptu arrival, I instantly believed that the next day would be as blissful as paradise. Even though I know that he doesn't look at me or regard me in a way that I would want, I still longed for his presence. And now the news they bore to me this morning was beyond devastating. Not only did it turn out that I was adopted, it also turned out that Alexander's supposed wife was their real child. The signs were there, I didn't take any of it into consideration. I didn't take the slightest resemblance from any of them. I should be angry with Alexander for knowing about it yet not saying anything. But then one could not really fault him. Mum and dad would have instructed him not to say a word about it. I found my attachment and my obsession toward him growing deeper and deeper. 2 of those kids who sat at the dining table looked so much like him. As I kept tossing and turning in bed, I heard noise downstai

Melissa The day transformed into dusk as soon as possible. I wondered how long I had slept for. “Knock knock,” Albert stood in front of my room. “Wakey wakey, you have a visitor.” I stretched my stiff hands and legs for a while. “Visitor? Who? Is it–” He cut me short quickly. “No it's not dad. It's someone else.” “Give me a few minutes, I'll be out now,” I discharged him. I helped myself into the bathroom, rinsing my face and other parts of my body. Whoever was looking for was deep rooted at the back of my mind. Well, for me to know who it is, I'll have to just see for myself. Janet was helping the kids dish out their food. I looked around only for me to see Francis sitting at the far end of the couch, waving and smiling at me. I got closer to him. “What do you want here? Haven't I told you not to come here again?” “Your kids weren't so nice, especially the one who came to call you out,” he pointed at Albert and I hit his hand down. “Don't ever point your hands at my kids,”
