《Bite, Bleed, Bow (MxM)》全部章節：第 171 章 - 第 180 章

“How is he?” Sage looks at the pack doctor, who just finished examining Rowan, lying unconscious on the bed in his human form. Sage doesn’t leave his side; he doesn’t care that he’s on the verge of passing out himself, still soaked in blood and his clothes torn, and he doesn’t care that the poison in his system seems to be draining him further and further from the inside. He looks at the doctor, waiting for an answer, but the man has a forlorn and sorrowful look on his face as he walks back and stands beside the pack healer, who has also examined Rowan.“Why aren’t you saying anything?” Sage demands.“We’re sorry, but there’s nothing we can do for the Alpha. The blade he was stabbed with was poisoned; it’s preventing his wolf from healing, and it's stopping his human form from gaining consciousness. There’s nothing we can do for him. He has to heal on his own, and we don’t know how long that is going to take. He could…again die in…the process.”Sage’s eyes widen. Rowan could die. The

Rowan opens his eyes slowly. He blinks at the blurred ceiling over his head that slowly clears the longer he stares at it, while ignoring the light and dull ache that spreads throughout his whole body. His mouth tastes like iron, and his head feels heavy as if someone has it wrapped in a cloth.“Alpha Rowan,”Slowly, he turns his head and sees the familiar face of Elder Clyde, Ciel’s father. Worry and concern have lines cut softly and deeply around the old man’s eyes as if he has not slept in days, and when Rowan blinks at him, he lets out a breath of relief.“You are finally awake, thank the goddess,” the elder says with a smile.Rowan opens his mouth to speak but finds his mouth dry. His hand goes up to rub his throat. Noticing his struggle, the elder immediately fetches the glass of water that’s on the table. He sets the glass to his lips and helps him drink.“Easy there. You have been unconscious for a few days.”Once the glass of water is empty, Rowan’s head hits the bed again, a

Sage feels like he’s dreaming. He feels like he’s still stuck in a nightmare that circles the cold dungeon walls and floor. He remembers the fear that courses through his veins. He remembers having nothing but the dusty walls to look at, shivering in the cold, wondering when it was going to end, wondering when the poison would finally take his life. He thought, perhaps he was never meant to live long; maybe that’s where his fate ends. When he opens his eyes, he expects to be cold or in pain. He expected to be on the other side of the world; he expected all the worst things a half-alive or dead person would feel or not, but not pressed against a warm chest that rises and falls under his head.Sage blinks. He’s not on the dungeon floor soaking away in his own dry blood. He’s breathing. He’s alive and he’s not in pain.Realization causes his breath to hitch, and instantly, he’s jerking upright on the bed, dressed in an oversized shirt and pants, and bandages wrapped around his hands. A ga

Sage wakes up slowly. He blinks against the soft light that comes through the curtains, then stretches his arms out, letting out a dragging sound of relief. Then he pulls himself to a sitting position. He can’t remember the last time he felt this relieved and light. He looks at the nature behind the large glass windows, seeing the rays of sunlight peeking in. He lets out a smile, realizing this is one of the many things he likes about Rowan’s private home, which has become theirs whenever they want to stay away from the pack house. Waking to the sunlight and nature is something he won’t trade for anything, and most importantly, waking up beside his mate. Is it wrong to feel this much peace and enjoy it? Is it wrong to think nothing is going to go wrong in his and Rowan’s lives?Sage exhales a sigh. He has been in so much shit lately; peace is starting to feel like a sinful luxury.Speaking of his mate. Sage snaps his head to the bed where the alpha is supposed to be. It’s empty, but th

It’s the day of the eclipse, and it’s heavy; it’s like the air itself knows something is about to change or go completely wrong.Kieran woke up early because he didn’t sleep a single wink. He had stared at the ceiling, unblinking till the morning sun came blindingly through the window. It's time to make a choice. He has his head lowered as he walks through the crowd that gathered at the pack training ground; the people of Ashbourne are eager to see the choices their young alpha is about to make. He doesn’t dare look at anyone’s face as he walks to the front, where a high platform is created for the event over the open sky above, and his father stands waiting for him.The time for the eclipse is getting nearer and nearer, and the sun is already dimming slowly in the sky, waiting for the moon to eat its way across. He climbs the platform and stands next to his father, and finally, his eyes move over the people: warriors, elders, young, old, and children, they all watch him. None of them
