The wind howled, packing the earth with it. Dry leaves skittered across the ground. The sky made a deep rumble like it held in something ghastly waiting to be unleashed. The figure in a cloak was almost unnoticeable in the dark. He strode briskly, his cloak flapping wildly behind him. A bird circled him overhead. The figure stopped before a tree. "Selena" Selena snapped out of her reverie. She smiled up at him with her big brown eyes, deciding to ignore whatever that was. Callum could swear he saw a golden comet orbit her corneas. Hours had passed since the notification for the meeting and the Alpha found his progeny tarrying. They had fashioned their score of disjointed excuses before gathering round at last. Presently however, the chair directly across Lucian remained vacant. It was Callum's. Lucian tapped his feet and fingers impatiently. Rowan gnawed away at his fingernails. Selena rapped upon the door of the bedroom she and Clara shared since childhood– mostly Clara's now. Selena barely stayed there anymore. Not since she and Callum had practically become a pair of clasped hands. Already, she was more or less his Luna in waiting. All that was left was the Moon's approbation and blessings before their bond could be consummated. What could possibly go wrong? Well, this was the notion she had of it all beforehand. The scent of incense filled Selena's nostrils as she stepped into Uncle Bane's expansive chamber. The fur-lined table had a bunch of items on it. A fork with three standing candles casting shadows dancing on the walls. By the corner, a tall staff with a curled head leaned against stone, its base catching the faint shimmer of gold. A gold sceptre with an emerald ball twinkling gold as if he’d just performed magic on it. A glass ball on a gold base, entrapping a swirl of cloud as violet as the galaxy and cosmos. Leather sturdy books were stacked, the four of them at either side of his furry table. His bedside was at a further corner of the room.
