I pulled Liam into my body, my arms wrapped tightly around his much smaller frame as the car crumpled around us. When the silence returned, I pulled back slightly, my hands on his shoulders, my eyes scanning his face. "Are you okay?" I asked, my voice filled with a concern that was uncharacteristic of me.
