ETHAN The world became fuzz, I was on a gurney, the ceiling lights passing over me like flashlights.Everything the wheels went over a bump my head felt like a crumbling mountain. The white walls were replaced by heavy shadows of Eldenridge. A few years back.“Open this door, Rhea, I know you're in there.” The voice in my head wasn't the rational wolf everyone knew me to be. I was furious.“Mr. Hale? Can you hear me? Press the oxygen! He's crashing!” A medic’s voice drifted in from the real.world, desperate and tiny but it was wavy like it was miles away.I was watching a memory I had been forced to bury under layers of forced suppression, surface the night i discovered who she was. Then I saw her. Rhea, she wasn't the victim I thought I was protecting. She was stepping oit the Guest house room of Eldenridge after Kieran took me back. I went back just to have some closure. But this time I climbed up the walls instead to walking into the establishment.I saw Magnus Vale, adjusting he

KIERAN As the soldiers and I walked about the hospital, someone shouted from the supply room, “She’s in the air vents.” as the squad of soldiers rushed to the part of the hospital were it led out to. I walked there myself, having mapped out the whole hospital in my head. I stood beneath it, my claws extended with a rage like I've never felt before causing my chest to heave. She's gone. The woman who has just orchestrated three counts of attempted murder, my mate, her mate and me, vanished from my very own fortress. “ Search the outer perimeter!” I roared into the comms.“Check the security videos, now! I want to know who helped her out of here!” “Kieran,” Dax’s voice crackled through the static, sounding a little hesitant. “The CCTV camera for that area of the hospital went dark a few minutes ago, they were stoned from a distant.” My blood ran cold. Rhea had not met with anybody during her imprisonment, he did not have the claws to do that to the vent, someone was helping

KIERAN As I walked into the council building flanked by two guards, the double oak doors of the high council chamber didn't just open, the force used to open them made them slam against the walls like a gunshot, echoing through the silence of the room. The scent of all the emotions of the room hit me as I marched into the heart of the chamber, my boots clicking against the stone.“ Welcome, Commander Vale,” Elder Auriel said, his voice smooth and polished like all the gold he likes wearing. He said at the middle of the crescent moon shaped table, his fingers gently tapping the table, flanked by the four silent other Elders of the high council.“We were just discussing the security breach, I'm sure you're aware of that, that's why you were invited today. He clears his throat and continues. “It seems your invincible barracks has turned into a graveyard, and your Ex - Luna who is supposed to be under trial amd your watch has vanished under your watch.” He flips the page of his book aga

ETHAN The dark was one of the only things I saw these days, just drifting In and out of consciousness, it was like a very heavy wet blanket was pressed on my wolf keeping the both of us down and locked in a rage cage.I fought it once a while, clawing my way through the drowsy, suffocating air, until I felt the cold of the air on my skin, or heard the slow beeping of the machine helping me breathe. And I was awake again. “Ethan? Ethan, look at me!” The voice was Kieran’s, but it sounded like he was shouting from the bottom of a deep, empty well.I forced my eyelids open, the room was nice this time, but I could see the three men I least expected who were with me through thick and thin at one point in my life.Kieran, Ronan and Dax. “ it wasn’t….. you,” I rasped, the words feeling like I was swallowing broken glass. “You didn't hit Ronan with a truck.” I could see Ronan, tension leaving Ronan's body en - masses.“Don't talk, Ethan,” Ronan whispered, his hand hovering over my shoulders

KIERAN The darkness in the penthouse was hindering our vision. It was a suffocating blanket, thick with the smell of burnt electric, and shattered glass everywhere.I stayed crouched over Ronan and Ethan, my muscles coiled like steel spring, half of me changed as the synchronized howls of the Rogues vibrated through the floorboards underneath us.My whole body and instincts are riding me hard to eliminate the threat against my mate. “Kieran… I can’t breathe. Let me up.” Ronan's soft whisper broke me out of my thoughts. I felt his finger digging into my forearms, his nails out almost drawing blood.“Stay down, please.” I growled out, but the voice didn't sound like mine. It was too deep, too ancient coming from deep inside me, something that hasn't come out in years.“He is ours,” a voice echoed in my skull. It wasn't a thought, it was Him.Fenir my wolf.He hadn't spoken with this kind of clarity in a while, usually content with a few growling statements, he was content with lettin
