The husband I, Sienna Hart, had wanted to spend the rest of my life with, hurt both me and our son three times over the same woman.I forgave Caleb Price again and again, only to be met with his growing audacity. When he once again tried to make amends in his own way, assuming I would naturally forgive him, I had already bought plane tickets for my son, Tobey, and me to leave.…The hospital room was already filled with toys and snacks that Tobey loved, but my husband, Caleb, was still instructing people to bring in a gaming console."My sweet boy Tobey, I had someone buy all these toys and the gaming console for you. What do you think? Do you like them?"Tobey glanced at me before giving Caleb a polite smile. "Thank you, Daddy, but Mommy said I need to rest now and can't play games yet."I walked to the door, shutting out the envious gazes from the people outside. Then, I opened the windows before approaching Caleb."Have someone remove the stuff later. The doctor said too man

Both sets of divorce agreements clearly bore both our signatures—mine and Caleb's.I had forced him to sign them after the second time he hurt our son, but I had never gotten the chance to hand them over to the lawyer.Later, Caleb had told me to destroy them. Though I had pretended to agree, I kept them just in case he made mistakes again. That way, I could leave him. Now, it was time to put them to use. He had probably long forgotten they even existed.I grabbed the papers and the suitcase and left the house I'd lived in for nearly ten years without looking back.I thought I wouldn't hear from Caleb anymore in those final few days, but unexpectedly, he messaged me almost every single day. I couldn't figure out what he wanted, so I called him directly.Caleb chuckled. "Missed me?"I rolled my eyes. "What do you want? I need to take care of Tobey, so it's faster to talk on the phone."His voice darkened. "Can't I talk to my wife without needing a reason?"Swallowing my disgust

"Goodbye, Caleb. Forever."I ended the call without hesitation, tore out the SIM card, and tossed it in the trash.Meanwhile, Caleb was throwing a fit in Tobey's hospital room. He interrogated every doctor and nurse, demanding, "Where are the mother and son who were in this room? Where did they go? When did they leave? I didn't invest in this hospital just to feed a bunch of useless idiots who've managed to lose my wife and son!"Everyone trembled. Finally, a young nurse mustered up her courage and said, "I think I heard them mention something about plane tickets. They probably went straight to the airport this morning."Caleb couldn't wait another second. He sped off in his sports car, running several red lights along the way and drawing angry curses from the other road users. When he finally reached the terminal, he demanded that the staff look up the flight information for me and Tobey. However, he was told that they couldn't disclose that information due to passenger privacy.

At dusk, the plane touched down smoothly on the private airstrip of the small island. Tobey and I had just stepped off the plane when we were greeted with an exuberant welcome from my parents. The fanfare startled me, leaving me both surprised and overjoyed.Seeing my parents' temples streaked with gray, I burst into tears and threw myself into Mom's arms. "I'm sorry, Mom. I should've come back sooner. I'm never leaving again—I'll take good care of you both from now on."My family's business got its start back home. As it grew bigger and bigger, it eventually expanded overseas, so my parents settled abroad. They'd asked me multiple times to move overseas with them, but I stubbornly stayed in the country for Caleb. Now, ten years had passed since we'd last said goodbye. They never once brought up the past. Mom held me as she cried, while Dad scooped Tobey up, telling us about the new companies they recently acquired. The family business was thriving, and even this island we'd just l

Our wedding happened to be on the day of Purlow's polar night. For only three brief hours, the sky would glow with a light blue wash.Caleb had been standing out in the snow for an entire day and night. From afar, people would probably mistake him for a snowman. From the warm treetop cabin, I looked out the window, and I seemed to meet his gaze in the darkness. It was time to end this once and for all.I had someone bring him inside. "Caleb, even if you freeze to death, I won't change my mind. My wedding is in two hours. Leave."Caleb blinked his stiff eyelids, his whole body barely able to move."S-Sienna… d-don't… leave me… Do you remember when we were dating? We had a fight, and you were so angry that you ran out and nearly got hit by a car. I pushed you out of the way and saved you. I broke my leg then. Every rainy day after, you would feel so guilty that you treated me extra well. How can you feel nothing for me now when I'm out in this freezing snow?"How could I forget?
