WHEN I GET off the elevator on Daddy’s floor, the main room is pretty dark, though I see the lights on in one of the conference rooms. I carry all the food back toward that light. I can hear the murmur of the meeting as I approach.When I knock on the door, Jaime opens it with a huge grin. “Food,” he sighs. “West said we could order pizza to have here quick or wait for you to bring…whatever smells like heaven.”He takes the box from my hands, leaving me with the bags that still hang from my arms.
