“Out of the way, you moron” Dalia, my colleague and number one bully shoved me as she and her friend, Millie walked past like they owned the building. Everything feels so heavy My eyelids, my chest and my heart. But the worst part has to be the pain and pressure in my head I felt like I was experiencing the migraines of five overworked accountants. I’m still standing in the middle of the office when the door swings open without a knock. Hard. Two heels click in first. Then voices. “What the hell is this?” I turn slowly. Dalia Carter stands in the doorway, arms crossed, lips curled like she just stepped into something foul. Minnie is right behind her, eyes darting around my office like she’s counting everything that doesn’t belong to me. In my own office. Still feels strange to think that. I don’t send texts like the ones I’m supposed to send. Most people don’t even have my direct line to begin with. I don’t tell employees to wait after hours. A lot of the time I want them completely gone so I don’t have to run into any one of them. I don’t blur lines. I don’t lose control.
