《Alpha VS Omega' Twin VS Twin (A Dark Werewolf Romance)》全部章節：第 261 章 - 第 270 章

POV: Moira | Scottish Highlands, outside InvernessFive years is long enough that Scotland has become the shape of my life rather than the place I retreated to, which is a distinction that matters, the distinction between somewhere you are waiting and somewhere you are living, and I have been living here with Finn for five years in the specific way that people live somewhere they chose rather than somewhere they ended up, intentionally, with attention, building the kind of life that requires building rather than the kind that arrives fully formed. The community here is small and old and has the quality that Scottish wolf communities have, which is the quality of people who have been in the same landscape for generations and who have developed a relationship with that landscape that is not separate from their supernatural nature but integrated with it, the hills and the specific weather and the long winters producing a specific kind of wolf and a specific kind of community that London'

POV: Callum | Rookeries, operational buildingThe message arrives through Jack's network at two in the afternoon and I read it with the specific quality of someone who has been expecting a version of this for five years and who is discovering that expecting a version of something does not prepare you for the actual version when it arrives, which is always different from the expected one in the specific details that matter.I have been Alpha for five years. The Rookeries has been autonomous for five years, which is the probation period ending in six weeks with the review coming and which has been the organizing frame of the past half-decade, every decision made with the review in mind, every incident documented and managed and addressed with the specific awareness that the review is the bar and that everything we are is on trial.Losing the Alpha position six weeks before the probation review is the specific sequence that ends the Rookeries' autonomy, because the probation agreement wa

POV: Finn | London, RookeriesLondon is louder than I expected, which is the first thing I notice when we come off the train at King's Cross and which is the first piece of information I add to the London I have been building in my head from Papa's letters, because the London in Papa's letters is a place of specific people and specific events and specific feelings and none of those things have a sound, and the actual London has sound in a way that Scotland's hills do not, the specific compressed quality of very many people in a small space all making noise simultaneously.Mama has my hand and I have my bag and Papa is on my other side and the three of us are walking through King's Cross with the quality that my parents have when they are in a complicated situation, which is the quality of adults managing something that they have decided I do not need to manage with them, and I have been noticing this quality in them for two days and I have decided that asking about it is less useful t

POV: Finn | Parliament chamber, witness positionThe Parliament chamber is the largest indoor space I have been in and it has the specific quality of places that were built to make the people inside them feel small, which is a thing I have been reading about in history books and which I now understand not as a description but as a physical experience, the ceiling very far above and the seats arranged in a shape that puts the person at the center of it in the specific position of being looked at from all directions simultaneously.I am at the center of it.There are twelve vampires in the elevated arc above me and they are all very old in the way that very old things are old, which is not the way that grandparents are old but the way that the hills behind our house in Scotland are old, the quality of something that has been in its position for so long that it has become part of the landscape rather than a thing moving through it, and the twelve of them looking at me produces a quality

POV: Lucia | The Shelter, RookeriesI am five years old and I understand more than adults think I understand, which is a thing I have known for approximately two years and which I have not told most adults because telling adults that you understand more than they think produces a specific response in adults that is not useful, which is that they become more careful about what they say around you and therefore you understand less, which is the opposite of what I want. What I understand right now is that the adults are frightened and that the frightened quality is different from the frightened quality they had five years ago, which I do not remember but which Isla has described to me and which has the quality of something I know the shape of from the stories even if I do not know it from experience. The current frightened quality is quieter and more internal, the frightened quality of people who have built something and who are watching it be threatened rather than the frightened qualit
