Rain continued pouring over the crashed car. Smoke drifted slowly from the damaged engine while the distant sound of traffic filled the night. Inside the vehicle, silence hung heavy. Elizabeth watched Lewis carefully. His face had gone pale. Completely still. Daniel noticed it too. “Lewis,” he said cautiously, “what did he say?” Lewis didn’t answer immediately.
