JEREMÍAS I stand, scanning Caleb's expression. His face is laced with tension, his jaw locked so tight I can see some muscles beneath his jaw. He's glaring at me, a mix of normal hatred and desperation in his eyes. “I'm sorry, sir. I tried to stop him,” my security head says, lowering his head with his hands straight at his sides. I give a sharp nod, signalling for him to leave. As the security head leaves, I turn my attention back to Caleb. It's like he hasn't blinked once, his glare still on me. “Where's Ashley? Why the hell did you bring her here? Caleb asks, his chest heaving as if he tackled someone to get here. I watch him with fascination as he loses his cool over an irrelevant matter. It's laughable, really, with him acting the part of a protector over a girl he doesn't give a fuck about if he hurts her feelings.
