Lahat ng Kabanata ng A Ridiculous Cat Bill and a Missing Friend: Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 9

I was just getting ready for a nap when Lenny's message came through."Seven thousand dollars—what a lucky number. It's the Christmas season, so of course we can't shortchange our furbabies. This is my bonus. Our cat is a little princess, and she deserves only the best."I didn't read the rest of his messages, because the moment I saw seven thousand dollars, I was so shocked that all my sleepiness vanished.I quickly typed back, "Seven thousand dollars?""Yeah," Lenny replied immediately. "Our cat is a little princess. Just imagine how jealous the other cats would be if they rode back in a Maybach."I stared at this message, still reeling in disbelief.Even I, the owner, had never ridden in a Maybach. Yet, Lenny expected me to spend seven thousand dollars so my cat could ride in one?Seeing that I didn't reply, Lenny immediately sent a voice message."Why aren't you replying? I'm doing you a favor here."I sighed and screenshotted the message my boss, Zane Hampton, had sent me

After they finished speaking, Mr. and Mrs. Gibson knelt on the ground and begged, "Noah, please just tell us where Lenny is. He's our only son and our everything."Their voices were so loud that all the neighbors came out to see what was going on.Some of them spoke up in their defense."Don't be so selfish, Noah. They're just worried about their son.""That's right. If you know where he is, just tell me. Don't let them worry like this.""We've watched you grow up—how have you turned out like this?"Looking at Mr. and Mrs. Gibson kneeling on the ground, I just found the whole thing absolutely absurd."How many times do I have to tell you I don't know where he is? I'm just as clueless as the two of you."Tears streamed down Mrs. Gibson's face."Lenny was ready to spend 20 thousand dollars on a gift for you, so why'd you come back just to hurt him?"They just kept rambling on, and I couldn't get a word in at all. After clearing my throat, I explained, "First of all, I have not

Jenna couldn't keep her hands off Bebe. She came over to my place almost every week just to see her.She had this information slip one time while she was petting Bebe. She didn't mean anything by what she said, but I read too much into it and found myself instinctively worrying about Lenny's safety. But then, I caught myself and let out a bitter laugh.Whatever happened to Lenny had nothing to do with me. All I needed to do now was focus on my own life. However, I never expected Lenny to be so despicable as to send me explicit photos of himself and Irene. There were different poses and angles. The only constants were his profile and Irene's mocking expression."Noah, Irene says she doesn't even know you. Are you sure you're not just imagining things? I know she's a beautiful and wealthy woman, so falling for her is only natural. But you can't just make things up."Tell you what—since you like Irene so much, I've already posted this online. Let's see what everyone else has to say

Lenny wasn't the least bit wary. Instead, he was just wrapped up in this weird, almost unsettling kind of excitement.Along the way, he kept checking his reflection in the mirror, fussing over his appearance. His thinking was simple—if he could win over Irene's grandparents, he'd be one step closer to marrying her. However, did Lenny truly love Irene?Probably not.The reason he had dumped his college sweetheart of four years, turned against me, and stolen Irene away was all for one thing—marrying her and living the life of a trophy husband. But what he didn't realize was that this would be the last plan he ever made for his own life. The moment he stepped through the lifeless front gate, Lenny felt a sense of foreboding."Hello?" he called out, but no one answered. He clutched Irene's arm, trying desperately not to be afraid. But the eerie, gloomy house offered him no sense of security whatsoever. Then, to his surprise, Irene let out a low chuckle and whispered in his ear l

Even though Lenny was bawling like a baby, I didn't feel an ounce of sympathy for him.Even before he saw Irene's true colors, he'd been ready to team up with her to completely destroy me.For that alone, I could never forgive him—never mind the fact that he'd never truly considered me a friend from the very beginning. If anything, I was nothing more than an emotional dumping ground for him. He only thought of me when he needed something.Lenny was prostrating so low that his forehead nearly touched the ground, yet I still didn't feel sorry for him.I crouched down and lifted his head.Lenny looked up at me, his face full of hope. However, I just said expressionlessly, "Forget it. There's no way I'll ever forgive you. You can never make up for the trauma you've caused me."The police took Lenny away. The fact that he'd defamed me was undeniable. In the end, he was sentenced to three years in prison. The police cleared my name with the truth. The facts presented by the police
