Chapter 1

"Ethan is right—better to be a big fish in a small pond than a small fish in the big sea. I've decided to apply to a community college with him.""With our abilities, even at a community college, we'll still be the standout figures."Seeing Jessica and Megan agree to go with him, Ethan's face lit up with joy. Then he turned his gaze toward me."Ryan, you should come with us too. The four of us have always been a team. I really don't want to be separated from you all."Looking at the three familiar faces before me, it hit me all at once—I had been reborn.I had returned to the moment right after the SAT scores were released. Jessica, Megan, and I had all scored above 1400, more than enough to get into top universities in the country. But Ethan, the poor student who had only scored a little over 660, had somehow managed to persuade us to follow him to a community college instead. This time, if they wanted to go, they could go. I wouldn't waste a single word trying to stop them aga

Chapter 2

Their blatant defense of Ethan chilled me to the bone.I had grown up with them. For as long as I could remember, Jessica and Megan had been like family to me. They once swore they would treat me well for a lifetime—that no matter who I chose in the future, the other would sincerely support me.But everything changed in our second year of high school, when Ethan transferred to our school. He told me he was a poor student my family had been sponsoring all along, and even brought me sweet potatoes from his village as a token of gratitude. He seemed honest and sincere, so I introduced him to Jessica and Megan. I never expected that from that moment on, everything would change. They shifted all their attention and care to Ethan, repeatedly using our bond as leverage to pressure me into yielding to him.Back then, I was foolish. I still held onto hope in them, and that was how I ended up losing my life. Now, I only wanted to stay as far away from them as possible."Then from now on,

Chapter 3

The teacher explained that as long as the application period had not ended, students could modify their choices an unlimited number of times. The so-called "only three changes allowed" rule was nothing more than a scare tactic to make students take the application process more seriously. My choices were restored. But I knew very well that things between me and Ethan—and those two girls—were far from over. Since neither in this life nor the last had they been willing to let me go, I would no longer be a sitting duck. After planning everything carefully, I finally felt the heavy weight in my chest lift.Believing that my admission to a community college was already set in stone, Ethan went traveling with Jessica and Megan.Every day, he sent me photos of the three of them being intimate.[Ryan, how does it feel to watch the two women you like fawning all over me? Not good, right?][Jessica and Megan both said they'd rather be my second choice than pick you. As a man, don't you th

Chapter 4

The noisy scene suddenly fell silent. After snapping back to reality, Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Flores rushed off the stage and snatched the acceptance letters from the delivery driver's hands."What's wrong with you?" one of them snapped. "How can you be so slow delivering an acceptance letter? Were you slacking off somewhere?""Everyone else's Horvarte letters arrived ages ago, and you're only bringing it now—you almost delayed my daughter's future! I'm going to file a complaint against you!"Still grumbling, the two of them didn't even bother opening the envelopes before heading straight back toward the host on stage. But Jessica and Megan quickly rushed forward to stop them."Mom, it just arrived. Let's take it home and open it later.""Mom, I want Dad to share in my happiness too. Let's go home and open it together when he's there."They had never dared to tell their families that they had applied to community colleges. They had planned to wait until the admissions results were

Chapter 5

Because of Ethan's words, everyone's gaze snapped toward me in unison.Ethan continued, "When we were filling out the application forms, I was traveling with Jessica and Megan. We didn't have access to a computer, so we asked Ryan to help us submit our choices."Jessica and Megan immediately understood what he meant and quickly joined in, dumping the blame onto me."That's right, Ryan. We asked you to help us fill out our applications. We never expected you to be so cruel—you actually sent us to the worst community college!""I get it now. It must be because you didn't score as high as us, so you used this dirty trick to take us out of the competition!"Did they really think they could pin everything on me so easily?Fortunately, I had already prepared for this.I looked at the three of them as if they were nothing more than clowns performing on stage. "You had the nerve to do it but not the nerve to admit it—I really look down on you."Just as I was about to present the survei

Chapter 6

"Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Flores, I'm sorry. Jessica and Megan have always treated me like family. I truly see them as sisters and didn't want to be separated from them, which is why I suggested they apply to community college with me. I never expected it would ruin their futures."Seeing the boy they adored so deeply wearing such a wronged, self-sacrificing expression, Jessica and Megan immediately couldn't stand it. They dropped to their knees in front of their mothers as well."Mom, I chose community college willingly. It has nothing to do with Ethan. If you're going to blame anyone, blame me!""I chose it too. I just want to be with Ethan. I don't care about anything else."Mrs. Flores raised her hand and slapped her daughter across the face in fury. "You're out of your mind! Do you even understand that college applications are one of the most important decisions of your entire life?!"Seeing this, Ethan suddenly turned the blame toward me again."Back then, when they applied to com

Chapter 7

After saying that, my parents took me away. The next day, I received the transfer for medical expenses and emotional compensation from both families. They also posted public apologies in the group chat for three consecutive days.Once the matter was settled, my mother kept her promise from before the SATs and took me on a trip to Waterford.A month passed in the blink of an eye. Just as I was looking forward to my new university life, Ethan began stirring up trouble again.Seeing how fast influencers were making money online, he created a sensational narrative for himself."Two girls who gave up Horvarte to follow me to community college—who should I choose?"On camera, he presented himself as a poor but resilient young man, exposing the emotional entanglement between him, Jessica, and Megan, and asking netizens to help him decide who he should be with.Relationship drama has always been the easiest way to get attention. Some supported him being with Jessica, others supported Me

Chapter 8

Even my home address was eventually tracked down by his deranged fans, and every day our front door was left covered in trash.Faced with Ethan's defamation, I decisively chose to report him to the police. I wanted him to understand that the internet is not above the law—lies and slander can be prosecuted anywhere, anytime. While he was still livestreaming his "tragic backstory," the police arrived and took him away. The incident immediately caused a huge uproar online. Some netizens even claimed that my family was so powerful we could command the police at will.I took advantage of the trending attention and posted all the evidence I had collected over this period, along with a formal statement.[The internet is not beyond the reach of the law. I hereby formally state that all of Ethan's recent claims against me online are fabricated and defamatory. I have already reported the matter to the police, and I believe the authorities will soon provide a fair investigation result.][Th
