Lyra The package was not what I expected. The moment Selene pulled away the brown paper, the sweet smell of fresh flowers filled the air. I stood a few feet away, staring at the basket as my heart gave one hard beat. It was beautiful. These were not ordinary flowers arranged in a cheap basket. These were deep blue roses mixed with soft white lilies, small purple flowers tucked between the leaves, and tiny silver berries that looked almost like they had been touched by frost. The colors were exactly the ones I loved. My favorite. I didn't remember telling anyone that. Beneath the flowers were neatly packed boxes of chocolate, honey biscuits, dried berries, nuts, small jars of fruit preserves, and several packets of the salted crackers I had loved as a child. I stared at them hard, these looked expensive.
